Avery's Gore State Wildlife Management Area

I didn't choose Vacation Village in the Berkshires so much as it chose me. That is, by the time I'd secured my tickets to Wilco's Solid Sound Festival at Mass MoCA, it was the closest accommodations I could secure. I knew I wouldn't be spending much time in my room, which, I'd surely forgotten, was really a one-bedroom apartment, and so neither my expectations nor demands were terribly high. Vacation Village is charming in that slightly run-down, just past-its-prime kind of way—the kind of place that still has a DVD player installed but has no DVDs on hand to play in it. Still, I appreciated the spaciousness of the suite, even if I was mostly there to sleep. I found the bed to be quite comfortable, the shower pressure more than adequate, and, despite the unusual two-rooms-connected-by-a-common-foyer arrangement, I don't recall the family next door creating any memorable disturbance. The price was right, its location to both Mass MoCA and other sites worth seeing reasonable, and the fact that the charming and delicious Bluebird & Co. restaurant is practically within walking distance made Vacation Village in the Berkshires feel like a wise choice.

We stayed one night. I needed a pack n play and it was brought quickly. The room was comfortable enough but it definitely needs some updating/redecorating. Both the window A/C and the ironing board on the door made enough noise to keep waking up my baby, Had a fridge and microwave which was useful. Pools looked nice but didn't use. Breakfast was good with decent variety. Well located on a main road. We were charged 2x for some reason but received a credit 48 hrs later. Overall it was ok, but I dont feel it matched the summer rate that we were charged. For what we paid, I would expect something more modern and comfortable.
