Perfect Get Away
This was just what we needed for a quick getaway. The view is beautiful, and we could ride our bikes to restaurants and shops. The description was accurate, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet in the evenings. The amenities were basic but all you needed, we cooked one meal in and ate out the rest of the weekend.

My parents and I had been wanting to see Emerald Isle and decided to take a last minute trip there. We found this unit to be perfect for our lil stay. Everything was exactly as pictured. We loved the view and all agreed it was one of the best things about the place.

Listing stated that it is an an old motel that has been renovated. We reserved two nights. Shortly after we arrived, I contacted the host to say we were not pleased with the unit and would not be able to stay the second night. If I had not worked all that day, and drove almost 2 hours to get there (arriving after 8:30) I would not have stayed the one night. We checked out the next morning. They were kind enough to refund us the second night fee.

Unfortunately the guest did not get to actually enjoy the property as they arrived well after dark and left in the morning. I'm a bit confused by the review. They seemed distraught about a personal issue, so I altered their reservation to check out the next day, so that we could make room for other guests to enjoy the property during the busy holiday weekend. Someone booked almost immediately after making the unit available again, and this was their review. "Loved the view! It was beautiful! Little apartment nice and very clean!" We believe we offer a quality product right next to the ocean. The location cannot be beat. We look forward to assisting you with your vacation needs.

Great beach!
The room was clean, but quite small. I would recommend it for two people. Three would be quite cozy. There is a great view of the beach and chairs outside on the deck to have your morning coffee. The stretch of beach was quiet and uncrowded. We enjoyed our stay.

Mixed feelings, ok stay
Some pros: this place is steps from the beach, and while we were here (late June) we were lucky that there were relatively few people around on the a very beautiful stretch of beach in front of this property (whereas a few hundred feet in either direction seemed more crowded, possibly because of the larger condos or hotels in either direction). There is a very nice view (see pictures from the listing). This is a corner unit on the 2nd floor, so we also appreciated not having anyone above us. The AC worked well so that was also nice. Some cons/annoyances: the mattress was sagging, there is a significant gap under the entrance door, and the blinds don’t do enough to block out the very bright sunlight that comes in at sunrise - if you stay here make sure you bring a really good eye mask, especially if you’re not a morning person. There also seems to be a lot of humidity coming into this unit (there is a stand-alone dehumidifier device that we had to empty at least 3 times a day, it would fill up very quickly with water! I’ve stayed at many beachfront properties and have never had to deal with emptying a dehumidifier). Additionally, there is no sink in the bathroom, and barely enough space to close the door behind you when using the bathroom. This place is listed as having enough space for 4 people; even though it was just my husband and I, I can’t imagine sharing that small of a space with two more people. We fortunately had mostly good weather when we were here, and so of course other than sleeping, watching some TV at night, and making meals, we didn’t spend a lot of time inside - we made the most of our time at the lovely beach and outdoors! If you’re looking for a place to just crash at then this would be ok. This was an ok stay, we left this place with mixed feelings. This place looks like it used to be a motel - it’s definitely an older-looking building. What you see in the pictures is what you get.

Hi Nicole. Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review. We did upgrade the bathroom and felt that with the space it made sense to remove the bathroom vanity and expand the shower. Being right next to the beach we do have a lot of humidity and we do not have central A/C. We have added dehumidifiers to all of our units at the property to mitigate that humid feeling and our folks who have been return guests can see a difference and are very pleased with the addition. In the future I will look for a way to pipe the device through the exterior wall, but until then we find it just simpler for guests to empty the dehumidifier bucket. We do offer to stop in and take care of this for the guest if they desire. Built in the 1970's this was the gem of the crystal coast known as the Captains Bridge Motel. The property was sold to a developer who then sold the units as individually owned condo's. Only a fraction of the units are available for rent, which is why the property is not crowded and guests feel they have a lot of outdoor space to themselves.

Perfect couple stay
We absolutely adored our stay! The room was a little smaller than expected but fits two people comfortably. A third may be a squeeze but the futon would make it doable. Located right on the beach so lugging your beach gear back and forth is not such a struggle. The pool was clean and within steps from the room. I saw lots of reviews about the bed being too soft, but it was perfect for us. Very clean and the host responds to messages almost immediately. We will be returning in the future!

Great location
This property is perfect for a couple or anyone travelling alone. The reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bed is so soft you wake up with back pain. I had previously asked the owners about this because there were a lot of reviews about the bed being too soft and uncomfortable (and I'm pregnant so that was super important to me). The owners said they removed the mattress topper however it didn't feel like that or if it has been I think that mattress needs to be replaced as when we both laid on it at first it almost felt like a water bed because it was so soft. Other than that the property is super convenient and we loved it!

Second floor good view
At first I didnt realize it was second floor but when I brought my stuff up, I then realized its a good thing. The view was best on second floor. Access to the beach is good. The refrigerator was kind of noisy and the kitchen small but for one or two people it was fine. Management was very helpful to try and get access to the TV. Super market nearby and gas station even closer.

Overall room is exactly as advertised. The location is right on the beach. We were able to go on a day where the weather was nice. You get nice views from the windows and I loved hearing the waves at night. Very easy and outlined instructions for arrival and departure. We ate breakfast at a no frills restaurant near the room called Cox's and it was great. We also had dinner at Table 9 which is a more upscale seafood restaurant about half a mile from the room and again, great food and great time. I docked one star only because the bed in this room was extremely soft to the point where you sink in 6 inches when you sit on top of it. I would change the mattress at this location to give better lumbar support and a better night's rest.

Over all we were happy with our choice, however… the bed was way too soft because it had a topper on it. The small couch was uncomfortable and the chairs to sit at the table were hard plastic and uncomfortable as well. The Big picture windows facing the ocean gave a wonderful view, but the curtains and blinds were a struggle to open and close. There has not been much effort put Into updating the Furnishings. The shower had been updated and was very nice plus the location was fabulous

Fall break
This was our first visit to Atlantic Beach and it will not be our last! It was nice and quiet at this time of year and we were very lucky to have beautiful weather for our entire stay. The beach was just beautiful and although we didn’t bring our dogs (the studio does not allow pets), it was nice to see it is pet friendly. Self check-in and check-out was super easy and convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place, but we did have a couple of concerns. You can’t tell by the pictures, but in the bathroom there is no place in the shower to hold your soap and shampoo (you have to put it on the floor which is awkward) and there is no sink. The kitchen sink doubles as the bathroom sink. I did not like finding hair while washing the dishes and there was absolutely no counter space for laying out toiletries or for food prep. Second, only one set of windows had blackout curtains and the vertical blinds on the one without curtains was broken, which allowed the rising sun to shine in. And finally, the bed was very soft. If you prefer a more firm mattress, your back may hurt every morning. Despite these concerns, we had a lovely time and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Best kept secret on the beach!
This place is an absolute treasure! It is the perfect palace for a couple's getaway! It has everything you need to have a comfortable, quality stay. The kitchen is quite cozy in size, but we were able to use the tools provided to cook in the room and enjoy waterfront dining every night for 1/3 of the cost of eating out! What this place lacks in size it makes up for in the amazing view and proximity to the beach! (It is literally less than 60 steps to the sand from the room!) Not to mention the location to local points of interest is another bonus! We were able to enjoy our coffee and beautiful views of the ocean water each morning on the balcony in the comfort of the Adirondack chairs provided by the complex. We found the unit to be exceptionally clean, with ample amounts of clean bath towels and linens provided. This was our second time renting from Edward and Mia and we will definitely be booking with them again!

Beautiful little beach getaway!
Fantastic experience! Everything as described and really better than expected. For such a small space, it was totally workable for my wife and I, plus our 5 y/o on the futon and enough room for a crib for our 11 month old. Lots of hooks for hanging towels, swim suits, etc. Great shower, nice floors, big fridge, even a drying rack. Only complaint would be the seaside window was pretty filthy (and not to fault the owner - you are that close to the ocean that with a good wind, the sea spray is going to create that problem on a weekly basis - I find it to be a wonderful problem to have!); we meant to pick up a squeegee but were just too busy having a great time to worry about it. I thought the owner would stop by to say hi (I would like to shake hands and meet the owner of a place I'm staying but it's also nice that they respect your privacy, if you care about that) but they left all instructions clear as could be - lock box, laundry, wifi, everything was very well explained in the VRBO correspondence. The outside was well lit at night, the bbq grills saved us one meal out (though it's hard to steer away from all the great food choices), the pool was a great break for the kids after the ocean had them worn out... Don't know what else to say - all around great experience! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful beach condo w/us!!!
