Felt like a home from home, would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay! This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 9 May 2025 #### Lived up to it's description We loved our one-night stay in the Lookerer. It was everything I hoped it would be. Space is obviously at a premium and as an older couple (mid 70's) we don't travel lightly, but we managed to cope with a small but carefully though out space. The bed was particularly comfortable, and the shower room/toilet was a revelation (I never imagined you would get such a good shower in a Shepherd's hut). We had the promised sheep all around us, and as each side of the hut has a window we really did feel we were right in the midst of them. Lovely open countryside with "big skies". Arrival information and support was excellent. I stayed for one night with my fiancé but could have been there for longer it feels so like home, the bbq/fire makes this place even more special to be outdoors, lenny the sheep is very friendly but the only one who likes any kind of attention the other sheep keep their distance, the chickens joined us in the morning what an unforgettable Experience we will be returning 100% , we also checked out the Christmas market recommended from the owner and it was great for something to do the following day with lots of handmade stuff to buy This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 25 Mar 2024 #### Cute and comfy! We had the best weekend stay in The Lookerer shepherds hut and couldnt recommend it to enough people! The interior was decorated beautifully, making it feel very homely and cosy - even on a sweltering weekend in June! The surroundings are stunning and every detail had been thought of - down to the marshmallows for the fire. Thank you again for having us & we hope to be back soon! Very much enjoyed our couple of days walking in the local area, spotting wildlife and eating at the local pub, The Shepherd and Crook, which we would thoroughly recommend, great food and friendly staff. Thank you! Gill and Pete Gallon ##### Gill G. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 31 Aug 2022 #### Great stay in beautiful surroundings! Lovely one night stay and a beautiful setting. Super cosy! We would have loved a later check out rather than 10am as we felt quite rushed to leave. We didn’t have anything to put our dirty linen in but everything else was just perfect!! This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 30 Aug 2022 #### Super short stay! Fantastic location, really comfy bed, we would definitely stay again! We had a few questions and they got back to us in an instant. Most importantly is that it’s one of the most beautiful parts of the marsh and you’re right in the middle of it! You can almost smell the smugglers groaning as they carry their loot through the soggy channels. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 23 Oct 2023 #### Great weekend We rented the 2 huts that are close together yet retain perfect privacy. We had a great weekend enjoying glorious sunshine and torrential rain. How nice to be so warm and snug and listen to that rain! There was room to enjoy supper together in one hut and then traipse home the 15 steps to our own abode. Stunning views, gorgeous sheep and the sea nearby. Perfection. Thank you. All in all a great little break!! The view was very special with the sun rising/setting over the fields. The sheep were in the same field and around us lots of the time which was lovely. We had a nice walk around the field, The shepherds hut was very special, clean and beautiful. We cooked breakfast in the morning on the hob. We had wood for the fire pit and it was nice and warm in the shepherds hut. Thank you for a very special stay Kristina and for letting us stay a little longer! This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 17 Nov 2023 #### Little slice of heaven We had the most amazing stay at the lookerer hut, we wish we had stayed longer than one night to fully make the most of it. Being surrounded by sheep was so peaceful and having the lit path to the hut was perfect for the dark night. The hut is spacious and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The little Christmas touches also made it more magical. The log burner kept the hut warm for hours but having the additional little heater was perfect. The bathroom was well heated too with the towel rail and use of the robes made the whole experience more comfortable. Having tea and coffee, milk, jam and marshmallows was a fantastic addition and the biscuits were heavenly!! The hut was spotlessly clean and a complete magical haven. We would love to come back and stay in spring time to enjoy the sheep and lambs! This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 2 Oct 2024 #### Cozy, conscious care! We can’t wait to return. We arrived by taxi from Ashford Intl station after a speedy hop from London, no trouble at all to reach this tranquil destination. With an entire app of information sent earlier we were fully prepared and so excited to see everything this beautiful place had to offer. The Hut is so thoughtfully accommodated that we wanted for nothing at all - we were greeted by local treats and enjoyed beautifully scented, luxurious showers straight into fluffy bathrobes (jet lag was no match!) A sunset walk among the sheep (and a sweet visit from the littlest lamb!) brought us fully back to life after a long day of travel from the US and at night, rain lulled us to a very comfortable sleep. The temperatures in the Hut were always pleasant and we loved to feel the breezes and soft sunlight through the many windows - never claustrophobic in such a well-thought abode. We rented bikes to trot down to Dymchurch and had a lovely day of it. Do not miss out on the local breakfast box - what could be better than the freshest farm eggs with your local coffee? The host is so very thoughtful and kind. We were sad to leave - this retreat recharged us fully, and we now count ourselves lucky to have seen this beautiful corner of the world! Our sincere thanks. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, cozy experience free of complications and full of charm, we can highly recommend this delightful experience. The two huts are closer to one another that they really need to be resulting in being able to see into our shower room from the neighbouring patio; a good curtain would help. But we had no noise from our neighbours. The hut is well equipped for the couple of nights we stayed but honestly we were glad not to have booked longer and that the weather was good. Space, we appreciate, is at a premium here and the use of it was very good. However cushions for inside folding chairs would have been an added bonus. There is the matter of one person having to sleep next to the wall and thus climb over the other person to get out of bed that presents an additional problem. But as I say it was only two nights. A full size shower was appreciated as well as a very well-equipped kitchen. I suppose the real question is ‘What is the difference between a shepherds hut and a caravan?’ The answer has to be ‘Marketing’ They are on trend at the moment so maybe worth a try if, like us, you want to satisfy your curiosity. ##### Roy P. Absolutely everything had been provided. Just when you thought you’d found something it didn’t have there it was. I said oh shame no wooden board for cheese, then found it. Then thought, oops no heatproof glove for the woodburner, and it was hanging up. Honestly it was so well equipped, even marshmallows, and a Nespresso machine!!! The hut was toastie warm and a lovely break away from TV and telephones. I took some battery operated candles which looked amazing and the outdoor fire pit provided a lovely ambience. We played cards, drank wine (a bottle provided also) and listened to music, we had taken a speaker but there was a radio I spotted on the shelf. I must admit the weather wasn’t kind to us and I felt bad that the sheep were out getting wet (obviously not a country girl). But it was lovely that they were around, initially they kept their distance, but after a while starting to come closer. It was just perfect and I will definitely return. We had wanted to star gaze but unfortunately the clouds were too low, an excuse to return . The hut was spotless and the shower was incredible, not the power you would associate with a Shepherds Hut!! If there was one thing missing that would be good weather, but that is beyond anyone’s control. Otherwise an ideal get away for some peace and quiet, and opportunity to read and reflect This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 13 Aug 2022 #### Chill out time Absolutely Amazinging Waking up in the morning with sheep in a field and opening your doors to the view of nothing but countryside. It is just the best. Lyn and Mick This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 1 Aug 2022 #### Lovely weekend stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in the Lookerer hut last weekend. The hut was equipped with everything you could need and it was immaculate! The location was great, with the beach just a short drive away. It was also lovely having friendly sheep neighbours! We would definitely visit again :) ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [The Grand Atlantic Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Weston-Super-Mare-Hotels-The-Grand-Atlantic-Hotel.h13326418.Hotel-Information) > > [The Spa Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Royal-Tunbridge-Wells-Hotels-The-Spa-Hotel.h8849.Hotel-Information) > > [Hythe Imperial Hotel Spa & Golf](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hythe-Hotels-Hythe-Imperial-Hotel-Spa-Golf.h9108.Hotel-Information) > > [The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell, Derbyshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bakewell-Hotels-The-Rutland-Arms-Hotel.h792056.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Beach Club & Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Salcombe-Hotels-Harbour-Beach-Club-Hotel-Spa.h2261933.Hotel-Information) > > [Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa - Adults Only](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newquay-Hotels-Fistral-Beach-Hotel-And-Spa-Adults-Only.h1895493.Hotel-Information) > > [Retallack Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/St-Columb-Major-Hotels-Retallack-Resort.h4537229.Hotel-Information) > > [Bloc Hotel London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Bloc-Hotel-London-Gatwick-Airport.h6594190.Hotel-Information) > > [The Coppid Beech Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bracknell-Hotels-The-Coppid-Beech-Hotel.h3809.Hotel-Information) > > [Carden Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Carden-Park.h190780.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h7234788.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Stansted Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stansted-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Stansted-Airport.h18464320.Hotel-Information) > > [Stratford Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Stratford-Manor.h27936.Hotel-Information) > > [Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf And Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Luton-Hotels-Luton-Hoo-Hotel.h1753903.Hotel-Information) > > [Camelot Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Tintagel-Hotels-Camelot-Castle-Hotel.h8083111.Hotel-Information) > > [Hollins Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shipley-Hotels-Hollins-Hall-Hotel.h63744.Hotel-Information) > > [Sand Bay Holiday Village](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Weston-Super-Mare-Hotels-Sand-Bay-Holiday-Village.h11443695.Hotel-Information) > > [St Michael's Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Falmouth-Hotels-St-Michaels-Resort.h2951426.Hotel-Information) > > [Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon by IHG](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Crowne-Plaza-Stratford-Upon-Avon.h11307.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h20753.Hotel-Information) > > [Norbreck Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Blackpool-Hotels-Norbreck-Castle-Hotel.h6377.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton at St George's Park, Burton Upon Trent](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Burton-On-Trent-Hotels-Hilton-At-St-Georges-Park.h5094740.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester, Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Radisson-Blu-Hotel-Manchester.h120016.Hotel-Information) > > [Chesford Grange Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Kenilworth-Hotels-Chesford-Grange.h920291.Hotel-Information) > > [Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Folkestone-Hotels-Grand-Burstin-Hotel-Folkestone.h1201483.Hotel-Information) > > [The Mill Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-The-Mill-Hotel-Spa.h1695656.Hotel-Information) > > [Village Hotel Manchester Ashton](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashton-Under-Lyne-Hotels-Village-Hotel-Manchester-Ashton.h1848975.Hotel-Information) > > [The Winchester Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Winchester-Hotels-The-Winchester-Hotel-Spa.h26080.Hotel-Information) > > [Worcester Whitehouse](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Worcester-Hotels-Worcester-Whitehouse.h18498.Hotel-Information) > > [Cotswolds Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chipping-Norton-Hotels-Cotswolds-Hotel-Spa.h13106835.Hotel-Information)
