We five had a comfortable and well-equipped country holiday home to enjoy for a week, with its garden with furniture and lovely views. The kitchen was great with a huge table plus outside eating possibilities. The welcome was good and we got eggs and milk to kick us off. A helpful selection of leaflets and maps to guide our choices of where to visit. We were lucky with really hot weather and the fan in the large living room was very welcome. The comfortable beds, wardrobe space and big clean bathroom were wonderful at the end of a day on the beach or Dover Castle. Sam the sheepdog was friendly too.

We arrived to a very warm welcome from Peter, the owner, and were delighted to discover fresh milk, tea and coffee awaiting us in the superbly equipped kitchen. There was also a half dozen freshly laid eggs from the small flock of chickens on the farm - thankfully no cockerel to provide an early morning alarm!
The views from the lodge were terrific with little to interrupt them and the great weather we had made the walks very pleasant. There are numerous footpaths and the local Military Canal to walk along.
A lot of thought and planning went into the Lodge with excellent facilities and a well fenced garden area to allow dogs plenty of freedom without impacting the farm.
It is remote, so the nearest Tesco Extra is about 20 minutes away, but that is why there is little light pollution and a star lit night sky.
We had a great time during our stay and have no qualms in recommending this lodge and its friendly owner.

I had a wonderful stay at Peter's cottage celebrating my mum's 60th.
I had a wonderful stay at Peter's cottage celebrating my mum's 60th. There were 6 of us (and 2 dogs) and there was plenty of space for us all. We arranged for a supermarket delivery on the Friday evening as the cottage is quite remote - which is lovely when you wake up to silence. Peter was on hand to answer any questions we had and made sure we had a brilliant stay. I highly recommend it.
