About this property
1920's and 2020's...the best of both!
We've owned the Hall House for 30 years and since then, she has been a primary residence, a vacation rental and a long term rental several times. Now she's back on VRBO and better than ever. She's been given a facelift, we've added some technology, new appliances and landscaping. She's ready to welcome guests who love history and Saluda...check us out and come for a visit.
If you love Inn's and B&B's, you'll appreciate this 1920's Craftsmen's Cottage...decorated with period antiques and lots of charm. This 2 bedroom and 1 bath cottage is cozy and inviting, just like your grandmother's house. There is a large, private deck on the back for quiet time or dinner and the covered front porch is perfect for 'porching' with passersby. The kitchen is fully equipped (actually over equipped) and the house is guest ready down to the wonderful linens. We have all you need to enjoy your stay.
It's just a 5 minute walk to Saluda's Historic Business District. There you can feast on a menu that includes highly-rated restaurants, great galleries, the Saluda Library with Internet access, and wonderful antique shops. We are just 30 miles from Asheville, the famous Biltmore House and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hendersonville is 12 miles away and home to North Carolina's State Theatre, the Flat Rock Playhouse, the Carl Sandburg Home and much more. About 20 minutes away is the Tryon International Equestrian Center where you can enjoy competition equestrian events, eat and shop! We are minutes to the Green River, one of North Carolina's beautiful Wildlife Rivers and the site of the International Green River Games where you can tube, canoe, or fish. We are surrounded by some of the state's best hiking opportunities, so come stomp the mountains!
Saluda can be and is enjoyed 12 months a year. Summers are mild and a great time to bring the kids and discover how much fun you can have in the mountains. Fall combines brisk days and beautiful colors when the trees provide a wonderful opportunity for picture-taking and hiking. Lots of guests enjoy bringing their families and friends to Saluda for the holidays. Spring is the time when Saluda comes back to life with lots of bulbs and flowers. We have some great gardens and they can viewed by merely strolling through our residential district. Come explore, relax, heal, experience and enjoy all that is Saluda!

This was the perfect place for our family of four! We loved being so close to downtown Saluda. Our young kids loved playing frisbee and tag in the backyard, and the house was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Laura was the best hostess—we even walked in to fresh baked cookies! Will definitely recommend to friends and would stay there again.
Laura has the most beautiful property! It's in a quiet neighborhood that is perfect for a family getaway. We were there for a family reunion and enjoyed it being so close to the activities we were there to attend. The linens are exquisite. Bath towels are luxurious. And the kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. We even had fresh baked cookies waiting for us! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
The owners of the cottage kept much of the uniqueness of the house but added modern conveniences. The amenities were wonderful. My favorite amenity were the sheets!
We Loved Hall House! Beautiful inside and out and very clean and fresh feeling. Great proximity to downtown Saluda for food and shopping. We took an inflatable kayak tour with Green River Adventures which is located Right in Town! The house was very well decorated and stocked with everything you need. Comfortable beds, private feel. Would highly recommend!
This is our second time staying at the Hall House and it was just as pleasant as the first. Laura is the perfect host that never misses attention to detail. Her home is welcoming and comfortable with treats and every necessity covered. Cant wait to get back!
This was the second time we’ve stayed immediately after Christmas to see family in Saluda. It’s the perfect location for us, but even without proximity to family, it’s an easy walk to downtown Saluda for shopping/dining, and a short drive from Hendersonville and Asheville. Very cute, very comfortable home.
This property is a historic home with lots of charm and character. The Hall House is immaculate, and everything for your comfort is provided by the host, including freshly baked cookies! We loved the front porch, the comfortable beds, and the complete kitchen. The host also provides comprehensive information about things to do in Saluda and the surrounding area, including shops and restaurants. This the second time we have stayed there, and we will definitely return!
This is a charming vintage cottage and the host is friendly and communicative. We loved the location and the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, the house was very clean and fully stocked. There was a snafu with the host thinking we were coming in on Friday, when we were scheduled to come in on Thursday. She normally makes cookies and put fresh flowers for guests, but we arrived to moldy dead flowers and an empty pastry dish with a note inviting us to enjoy the fresh pastries. She was very apologetic and sweet about the mix-up. I found her to be refreshingly honest and I told her not to worry about it. I think it is amazing that she routinely does this for her guests! The beds and quality linens were comfy. Also, there was extra everything. Towels, tissues, toiletries, kitchen staples, etc. This is a wonderful host who genuinely cares about the experience of her guests. And such an interesting property! We loved the rock and crystal collection. We would stay here again!
This home was everything. I thought it would be from the description and even more. it was clean and just so well loved all the things that make it a home where there so comfortable. You could tell the owner takes pride in what she does and her home would recommend this place to anyone.
What you see online is what you get and more. The pictures online are just like the house. What you don’t see is the attention to detail, so many amenities, ex towels, linens, extremely well stocked kitchen, and snacks. Everything was well laid out, with explanations of how things work and great information all together in one book.Very quiet setting, comfy beds, close to town and so many places to explore. Would highly recommend.
Our intent was to reserve a place for our family to stay at for mountain bike racing at Ride Rock Creek. We needed a kitchen for preparing meals, reasonable access to the park, and a place for us to crash. What we encountered was an unexpected delight; a little renewing getaway that we had not planned on. The home is a pure retreat full of beauty and functionality. It is also an easy walk to a beautiful little town, Saluda. Thank you for providing a space above and beyond expected!
We had a great stay in this old, restored and well-maintained house in Saluda! We happened to be there during the annual festival that celebrates coonhound dogs, including AKC trials for some of the breeds. The festival provided a great activity for our Hendersonville family, though we didn't go to the dog shows!
Saluda is a cute little town tucked into the mountains. There's nothing not to like there!
The house is great, and the kitchen is one of the best-stocked we've experienced in a rental house. The map of where everything is stored helped a lot.
Thanks, Laura!
What a lovely and well appointed home! Laura has thought of everything! The house is so cozy and comfortable and very close to the charming downtown of Saluda! We will be back for sure!!
Really lovely cottage. Our host, Laura, enhanced our experience by sharing her restoration of the cottage and giving us some background history of the Saluda area. Can’t wait to bring more friends.
