Frequently asked questions

How much does a ski hotel in Ashbourne cost?
Prices for ski hotels in Ashbourne can vary, but you can find a great deal from £61 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the hotel's proximity to the slopes and the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for our cheapest rates.
Is it cheaper to book flights and a ski hotel in Ashbourne as a package?
Booking a hotel and flight package on Expedia can be cheaper than booking flights and hotels separately. Bundling can lead to significant savings, especially for international travel or when booking well in advance. However, savings vary depending on factors like destination, travel dates, and availability, so it's wise to compare options. With access to over 300,000 hotels worldwide, Expedia makes it easy to build the perfect travel package.
What dining options are typically available in Ashbourne ski accommodations?
Ashbourne ski accommodations typically offer a range of dining options, from self-catering facilities to fully catered chalet experiences.

Many chalets and apartments come with well-equipped kitchens, allowing you to prepare your own meals. This is often a good option for families or groups who prefer the flexibility of cooking at home and suiting specific dietary needs. You'll find local supermarkets and delis in Ashbourne for groceries.

For a more relaxed experience, some accommodations offer half-board or full-board options. Half-board usually includes breakfast and dinner, while full-board covers all three meals. This means you won't need to worry about cooking or finding restaurants after a day on the slopes, and it's a popular choice for those wanting a stress-free holiday.

Additionally, some high-end chalets provide a fully catered service, which often includes a private chef preparing gourmet meals, afternoon tea, and drinks.
What activities should we do in Ashbourne besides skiing?
The best area to stay in Ashbourne for an extensive experience is the town centre itself, particularly around the Market Place and St. Oswald's Church.

This area is the heart of Ashbourne, known for its historic architecture, including many Georgian buildings. The Market Place is a central point, often hosting local events, and the main streets, such as Church Street and Dig Street, are lined with independent shops, traditional pubs, and eateries. It's a very walkable area, making it easy to explore on foot.

For couples looking for a relaxing getaway with easy access to local amenities and the Peak District, staying in Ashbourne town centre is ideal. You'll find a selection of quality guesthouses and boutique hotels within a short stroll of everything. It's a great base for enjoying leisurely walks, exploring local craft shops, and dining out.

Families seeking a convenient base for exploring both the town and the surrounding countryside will also find the town centre appealing. Many accommodations offer family-friendly options, and you're well-placed for short drives to attractions like Dovedale or Carsington Water, offering outdoor activities for all ages.
