Ashbourne is a thriving, picturesque market town on the edge of the Peak District, and is rich in history. It comprises medieval streets and historic buildings with a wealth of independent shops. The cobbled market place, hidden alleys and courtyards are a delight to explore, and the wide and elegant Church Street is considered to be the finest street of Georgian buildings in Derbyshire. It is charming, clean, comfortable and cosy. We had a nice surprise when we walked into the cottage and saw the beautiful Christmas decorations. The cottage is in a great location being just a five minute walk from the town centre and all it's amenities, the local park and the Tissington trail. The noise at night is constant, Friday being the worst as it went on till 3.30am!! People shunting cages around at the back & security lights going off & on shinning straight into our room. The parking wasn't an issue for us.
