We had a lovely stay! The space was much bigger than expected, clean, and well taken care of. We loved the side patio and back porch! Check in and check out were super easy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything about this cabin was just what we needed for a relaxing weekend. The only thing we missed was having some common spices/condiments for the dinner we cooked. But we will definitely be back in the future.

Quaint house in a very convenient spot--a walkable 2 blocks from the theater and downtown, and 1 block from the coffee shop. It was the perfect accommodation for 2 people! Loved the screened in back porch and spent a lot of time just soaking in the peace of birdsong and offloading the stress--I even took a little nap out there and listened to the rain. Between that and the theater, we had a very restorative few days.

Gorgeous Home

The home is cozy & classy making it the perfect stay for a couple looking to spend a weekend in a quiet historic town. The home has everything you need to cook and socialize (front sitting room is outstanding). We will definitely book again on our next trip to Arrow Rock.

The home was clean and cozy with an interior design that beautifully blended antiques with modern elements. Outdoor spaces were equally lovely, a perfect setting to gaze at hundreds of stars on a clear night. The location is great with an amazing coffee shop offering superb homemade goods within walking distance. The host was wonderful and very communicative as needed. I sincerely hope I can come back to Sweet Gum Cottage!

The home was exactly as described on the site. The location was excellent—very convenient for walking to downtown and the theater. It was unusually cold during our stay, and there was a noticeable draft from the large window by the table. Additionally, the bedroom’s back door only had sheer curtains, which did not provide much privacy. We would definitely stay again.

It was so charming and perfect in every way! We didn’t want to leave. I didn’t realize it was the original Catalpa, which I had been there years ago. Then ironically we had dinner at their new location. Food was fabulous!Thank you so much for a beautiful experience!

Check-in was simple/painless. Cottage is pristine, clean and meticulously thought out. Loved the style and decor We had everything we needed and more! Excellent communication with host. This place and town were HEAVEN. I was doing a solo trip just to escape for a little bit, plus to see a show at the Lyceum and I wasn't disappointed. The house was cozy, the bed comfortable and I had everything I needed. The overall vibe of the town was absolute quiet. It was bliss. Don't miss going to Catalpa (on Main street) - I stopped in after the theatre crowd was leaving and had an absolutely elevated dining experience. Liz (owner and chef) is amazing. As was the rest of the staff. Make sure to also go look at all of the historic properties! I'll definitely be back next year.

Wonderful Home

My Husband and I enjoyed our stay in the adorable cottage. Center of town, enjoyed all that Arrow Rock has to offer. The home is very well appointed for. The kitchen has a plethora of all the tools one would need to cook anything. We only made coffee, everything is neat and tidy. The decor is wonderful and had we had more time I would have picked one of the many books and read on the screened in porch. I did have my morning breakfast on the side patio while listening to birds brighten my day. Highly recommend

This is a beautiful little town with great history. It is peaceful and clean. You MUST eat at J Huston Tavern! The food and atmosphere are phenomenal. Our cottage was so quaint and well decorated. It was the serene get away we were looking for.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Sweetgum Cottage. The owners have done a beautiful job of decorating and providing most anything you could need. It's located just a very short walk to downtown and to the Lyceum Theatre.The screened porch and amazing courtyard are a special treat.
