This was a great hotel for our stay in San Jose. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and always ready to help. Check in was smooth and efficient, our room was fine, and we enjoyed using the pool (although it is cold) and the onsite restaurant.

Room was clean and spacious, large bathroom, shuttle staff were very friendly. Had a great view from room and able to see lots of different wildlife - recommend watching sunset and night tour - was disappointed had to pay additional $20 to hike trail at the top of the hill. Breakfast buffet was ok - traditional Costa Rica breakfast options. Wish the pool bar was opened longer to have time to swim and relax after done with tourist attractions and supper

Check before you go to make sure you do not get Room 5. The room booked is a "Corner Sunset Ocean View Room" and the rate was $498.60 a night prior to fees, for three days those were $220.98 for taxes and fees and $204.00 for an "extra guest" to have 3 people. The room is not on the side facing the sunset and another balcony adjacent to the room protrudes making the sunset visible in only one small area of the balcony at this time of year, at some other times of year it would not be visible. People standing on the other balcony also block the sunset. The balcony is also directly above the outdoor dining area and diners can see the balcony and into the room. The room also has no furniture other than the beds, not a single chair or loveseat. We also had to request a third chair for the balcony despite paying $204 for an "extra guest."

Beautiful property and house!
Hidden gem for sure. House was beautiful and the property was stunning! We watched monkeys while drinking our morning coffee and there’s a beautiful cook shack to cook over the open fire. We also saw iguanas, squirrels and beautiful birds while walking around the property, looking at the waterfalls ...
