"The staff went over and above to accommodate our early departure. They asked the 2 ladies in the kitchen to report for work 1-1/2 hours early to prepare our breakfast. We asked them not to inconvenience them, but they insisted. The ladies arrived SUPER early with smiles on their faces eager to serve us. We left a generous tip :) They also facilitated a room change so that we did not have to carry our heavy bags up the stairs. They were very easy to communicate with and eager to please. Very quaint, quiet and clean property. Exactly what we were looking for at that location."

CASTELUL DE LUT

CASTELUL DE LUT

10/10 Excellent
"This is a whimsical, magical place where the beauty of nature surrounding it blends in with the fairytale design of the property. It's peaceful and exquisitely maintained, with attention to the tiniest details. The rooms exude comfort and relaxation - while your inner child will be delighted in discovering the tiny fairy doors, and the cozy nooks. Enjoy the crisp, fresh mountain air while taking a stroll along the brook, and take your pick of fresh berries from the blackberry brambles. The restaurant features gourmet meals served in a wonderful setting. This property is a gem, and quite easy to get to from the main road. Will certainly be back!"

It's also the gateway to the Făgăraș Mountains, with many guesthouses and accommodations offering direct views of the peaks. For couples seeking a quiet retreat with stunning mountain views and access to hiking, staying in a guesthouse on the outskirts of the village, closer to the mountain trails, is ideal. Many properties here offer a peaceful setting with opportunities for nature walks and enjoying the serene landscape.Families often find staying closer to the centre of the village more convenient.

This period also sees local festivals and events, offering a glimpse into traditional Romanian culture. If you prefer milder temperatures and fewer crowds, May and September are excellent choices. In May, the landscape is lush and green, with wildflowers blooming, making it ideal for nature walks and photography. September brings the beauty of autumn colours to the Transylvanian hills, and the weather is still comfortable for exploring without the peak summer rush.
