"I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Thon Hotel Moldefjord in Molde, Norway, and I'm delighted to share my positive experience. The hotel truly impressed me with its exceptional cleanliness. From the lobby to my room, everything was spotless and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. What truly stood out, however, was the incredible helpfulness of the staff. Every member of the team I encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to assist with any request. Their warm hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Thon Hotel Moldefjord to anyone visiting Molde!"

"Booked a room with a fjord view and we weren't disappointed - it was great just looking out the window. We also appreciated the extra space, with sofa and arm chairs to sit on. Bed very comfortable. We also had an excellent meal in their restaurant one evening, trying the local delicacy klippfisk. Molde is a very pleasant place to spend a couple of days and a good base for outings to e.g. Trollstigen and the Atlantic Ocean Road. It was our favourite stay in Norway so far this time, but there were a few minor downsides. It could do with a few more hooks for towels in the bathroom and easy to reach electrical sockets by the bedside (leading to the additional comment - please vacuum under the bed more often!). Also the staff, whilst not unhelpful or unpleasant, were not as friendly as other places we've stayed."

"Just up the road from the bus terminal we arrived from and were able to check in an hour earlier. Friendly staff and room very clean, all we needed for an overnight stay. Nice view from the window. The breakfast at 175NOK (£12.50) was in my opinion not worth it considering the chain hotel we stayed in in Trondheim was only 25NOK more for a lot more choice including hot buffet items, but the onsite bar/restaurant however was very good. Fish n chips was one of the best I’ve been served and was value for money."

"First noted was the broken toilet seat. Steep stairs to the loft sleeping area had no hand rail. The kitchen pots were dirty. The oven was grimy. Cleaning supplies were old and filthy. One small garbage bag was provided with no visible means of disposal.No instructions were provided for internet connections (the modem codes were there) or powering the kettle or coffee maker (we eventually found power bars in drawers). Some makeshift over counter lighting was installed but didn’t work; lighting in the unit was generally poor. Extra bedding provided was old and badly stained. The older TV was not connected when we arrived and the owner was unresponsive through the VRBO messaging app. We eventually received a message back from the Novasol sub-service asking that we contact the owner by phone for assistance. This required us to use our cellular service which we try to avoid when travelling internationally. The owner did respond immediately when we called and was helpful. We then had use of internet TV for the last two days of our visit. The basics are here. A comfortable seating area, a workable kitchen (once we had cleaned), a newer shower unit, good laundry facilities and copious amounts of hot water. But, we would recommend immediate attention to the above-mentioned areas of concern before renting to another customer. Having travelled extensively with VRBO this property did not meet the expected standards. We are dissatisfied. Photos on request. "
