Welcome to Squirrel's Nest! This beautifully appointed 2,100 square foot, 2 story cabin with central heat has an open floor plan with vaulted ceiling and 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths total including 2 master suites and a large loft. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and double ovens. The first primary suite is located on the main floor with a king bed and has private access onto the deck. This bathroom has a shower and jacuzzi tub. The second primary bedroom is upstairs, also with a king bed. This bathroom has a shower-tub combo. The third bedroom is upstairs with a queen and twin bunk bed (can sleep 4 in this room). Additionally, the loft has a queen sleeper sofa, double futon, foosball, air hockey and a mini pool table. Charcoal BBQ available year round for guest use. (Guests should bring their own charcoal). Deck and patio overlooks the forested backyard. The living room has a gas fireplace, in addition to central heating throughout. During the summer months, you'll have full access to Big Trees Village Recreational Center. Only minutes from Bear Valley Ski Resort, Lake Alpine, Spicer Reservoir, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. There's something to do year-round! Squirrel's Nest is the perfect retreat for relaxation or to fulfill all your outdoor adventure desires. Access Information: You will receive check-in instructions, including your access code for entry, 2-4 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Please be sure to check your junk/spam email, as sometimes these instructions end up there. Pet Policy: This cabin is not pet friendly - If a pet is brought to a non-pet friendly cabin, there will be a $1,000 fee charged to card on file. Audio/visual cameras are on site (exterior only). Tenant must be at least 25 years old to rent. Communication: Property management will contact tenant by their preferred method of communication (personal email, text, etc.) to send a required rental agreement, check-in instructions, etc. Payment (where applicable): A 2% surcharge (of the total transaction amount) will be added to your transaction charges when your credit card is charged. Upon booking, $300, plus the c/c fee, is due immediately and is charged to the credit card on file. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival (if you are booking a stay that is sooner than 30 days from the booking date, the full amount is due immediately & will be charged to your card on file). We will accept payment by check for the final payment, as long as your arrival date is further out than 45 days. If you wish to pay by check, please email our office immediately to advise us NOT to charge your card on file for the final payment. Please note that if your check is not received by the 30 day mark, your credit card on file will be charged, regardless of previous arrangement. Everything was clean except the sheets on one of the beds had not been washed and smelled of BO. But inspite of that I highly recommend it. It was very quiet and peaceful there. Everything was as described, the house was clean, kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. if you will be cooking. The house is light and bright inside with large windows and plenty of space both inside and out. The location was perfect. We were in town for a wedding and chose this property because we have friends in the same neighborhood.The vacation rental management staff was exceptional, great communication, very helpful and responsive from booking through checkout!Definitely recommend The Squirrel’s Nest and Dorrington Realty/Sierra Vacation Rentals. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice stay during late June. It was pretty hot out but the house cooled down well and the agency bought two fans when we asked if there would be any. The layout is really nice and the kitchen is really well equipped. Make sure you go to Dorrington Realty for the keys. I went to Big Trees in Arnold at first because that was the original confirmation. You also have to make your own beds which might surprise people. ##### Lisa W. Reviewer Comments: Loved the cabin location and layout. Not happy about the closet situation. The master bedroom had no closet to use. No where to hang clothes, put shoes, store luggage. I had to hang my clothes in the utility closet. I know this is the owners right but they are not taking the renters into consideration. Also the throw rugs and area rug under the couch are a nuisance. You trip on them all the time. The seat covers on the dining chairs are a joke. They come off all the time. The cleaning needs to be done more thoroughly. The carpet under the couch and behind the chest looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in awhile. The patio lights were out but the management company fixed them right away. Sheila was very nice and helpful but I think the owners need to update some things. ##### Mary D. Reviewer Comments: We had 3 couples staying here and the house was wonderful for us! The description of the house was accurate. It was clean and well-maintained. We had everything that we needed. The management provided good customer service. A couple of our people went cross-country skiing at Bear Valley. We were able to take some nice walks around the neighborhood. We have been to Snowshoe restaurant and always enjoy their beer and food. Appreciated the fireplace! It's not far from the Big Trees State Park, which we have been to and enjoyed.
