Welcome to Squirrel Away Haven, located in the Pinebrook HOA with summer lake access. Our cabin has been recently remodeled, so you'll enjoy a "like new" experience in the mountains! The primary bedroom has a queen bed and private bathroom with shower/tub combo. The second bedroom not only has a twin bed, but also a bunk bed with a double on bottom, giving this room sleeping capacity of 3-4 people. The second bathroom has a full shower/tub combo. The living room has a sleeper sofa that will sleep 2 additional people as well. A new mini-split system offers heating and air conditioning throughout. Additionally, the wood-burning stove in the living room will give you warmth all winter long. The comfortable living room has space to fit the family, including a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy cooking dinner in the kitchen with an open dining space and bar area, which accommodates 8\. The front and back decks offer privacy with patio furniture for your enjoyment, including charcoal and propane bbq (guest to provide charcoal). Wi-Fi, Smart TV, DVD and VCR player. Only minutes from Bear Valley Ski Resort, Lake Alpine, Spicer Reservoir, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. There's something to do year-round! Squirrel Away Haven is the perfect retreat for relaxation or to fulfill all your outdoor adventure desires. Maximum Occupancy of 8 people includes sleeper sofa as sleeping space for 2 people. Access Information: You will receive check-in instructions, including your access code for entry, 2-4 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Please be sure to check your junk/spam email, as sometimes these instructions end up there. Pet Policy: Well-behaved and housebroken dogs welcomed, but must not be left alone (must be over 1 year old - max 2 dogs) with $50 non-refundable pet fee (please include in your reservation notes how many pets you're bringing, max 2). Audio/visual cameras are on site (exterior only). Tenant must be at least 25 years old to rent. Communication: Property management will contact tenant by their preferred method of communication (personal email, text, etc.) to send a required rental agreement, check-in instructions, etc. Payment (where applicable): A 2% surcharge (of the total transaction amount) will be added to your transaction charges when your credit card is charged. Upon booking, $300, plus the c/c fee, is due immediately and is charged to the credit card on file. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival (if you are booking a stay that is sooner than 30 days from the booking date, the full amount is due immediately & will be charged to your card on file). We will accept payment by check for the final payment, as long as your arrival date is further out than 45 days. If you wish to pay by check, please email our office immediately to advise us NOT to charge your card on file for the final payment. Please note that if your check is not received by the 30 day mark, your credit card on file will be charged, regardless of previous arrangement. The place was clean, the bunkbeds were perfect for the kids (they had a blast playing with the big bin of legos), and the beds were firm and very comfortable. Check-in was super easy - we had a bit of trouble finding the lockbox but was able to call the property management and they were very responsive. We also noticed the coffee maker was broken and the property manager was able to drop off a brand new coffee maker the next morning, which was so nice. The kitchen was fully stocked - it even had a fully stocked spice cabinet. We were there to spend time in the snow, so we drove to Spicer Snow park and Bear Valley Adventure Co for sledding, which was only 25-30 min drive. There's a supermarket down the hill when you come down Moran Rd - super convenient for grabbing food/supplies. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. ##### Aiko C. We weren’t too familiar with the Arnold area and found that if you’re staying there to go to New Malones it is a greater distance than we would have liked but would love this place again if we want to stay closer to Arnold and do Big Trees again as well. The one piece of feedback or clarification I will make is that it is advertised with ‘lake access’ which makes it sound as though the property is right at/near the water and it’s not. You do need to drive to access the ‘lake’ which is really small. However the home itself was cute and the space was what we needed. We booked this property to stay for our Yosemite trip even though it was 3 hrs away from Yosemite. The area was so nice and quiet at one point I was considering not going to Yosemite. The cabin is located in the redwood forest. There are couple of lakes, playground and even a golf course nearby. Grocery store is 10 minutes away. Very poor T-mobile reception but cabin's wifi was pretty fast. Inside the cabin was very cozy and equipped with everything you may need. From flashlights to hiking backpacks to helmet. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook steak, breakfast, even a cake. I also loved how Harman Kardon speaker sounded. This home was spotless, very well equipped, and was perfect for our small family group. In early February, it was close to the snowline, and lake access was wonderful. Really comfortable, great sunny deck among the trees, EPIC Lego bin kept the kids happy and occupied. One thing to consider is that only one of the lakes nearby allows dogs in the beach area (even on leash). So while this cabin does allow pets, which we really appreciated, there's not many local things you can do with them besides walks. Having said that, our pup still had a great time galvanting around the forest and I would definitely return to this spot. Heard a mountain lion on the last night. Very clean, great showers, comfortable beds, air conditioners worked very well, which was great because it was hot. Beautiful setting! There were inner tubes etc. for use at the lake but the pump didn’t work to blow them up (seemed to be missing a part). There are even some rafts for the lake, but we didn’t need them since we had enough of our own this time! Kitchen is fully stocked and there are many fans to help cool the cabin in the evenings. The beds are very firm, so if you’re super sensitive, may want an extra blanket or two to soften them up a bit, but that’s such a small thing compared to everything else being so great! The unit was clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with new housewares, appeared newly remodeled, and had everything we needed to make Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to have the dish washer, too. The primary bedroom bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful due to its distance from the highway and very little traffic. The wood stove was easy to use and kept the place toasty and the mini-splits worked great, too. However the blinky lights on the sides need to be covered up better for at night. ##### michelle r. A wonderful place to stay. It’d be great if you could include in your checkin/welcome email where to find the small lockbox on a post facing the door. (And include a small note on the garage lockbox redirecting people to the post.) We did not have iPhone connectivity & had to go back to the Fire Station in town to have them call you for us. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were right next door to our sister, who was hosting the Celebration of Life for husband, Ken Davis who recently passed. It was perfect - comfortable, warm and cozy!
