Our room was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. The main dining area and lobby/ hallway were decorated nicely and were comfortable and homey. The breakfast was reasonable, but could use more protein and lots less carbs— we don’t generally eat cake and cookies for breakfast. Lunchmeat was protein, but something a bit sturdier would be welcome. Our biggest problem was our TV— we’re not glued to it when we’re in such a beautiful place, but News and Weather in the morning and an occasional movie at night is usually standard? If the room didn’t come with that amenity, that information should be posted in the lobby or the room, eliminating our 20 min. frustration trying to get SOMETHING to watch. There was no one around to ask about that, so I tried contacting the owner/manager through Expedia, and although he later said he responded, I still haven’t seen his message. I still can’t get used to not having anyone around if you have a question or problem. The receptionist was polite and helpful at breakfast, but absent otherwise. It was a nice enough stay, but not worth the price we paid. It wouldn’t be our first choice on our next trip.

Very clean room with clean linens. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were usually left a cluttered, wet mess by a large group of other guests, who made a tremendous amount of noise until very late each night. The decor was oddly… eclectic… but interesting. Walking to the hotel for breakfast wasn’t a problem, and the food was delicious. We caught an unexpected aurora one night, and stayed outside for 2 full hours. (Could have used another layer, though.) We were worried about the mid-August nautical twilight interfering, but the photos were amazing!

Nice farmstead like setting with horses nearby . It’s conveniently located off of 60 with proximity to several small towns. Breakfast was really good and the eating area was large to accommodate many.
If you are doing Ring Road counterclockwise, please be advised that 60 is undergoing resurfacing around the waterfall, and this might slow you down .

I liked the self check-in and the location. I didn’t like that the shower in the bathroom is open so it can flood the bathroom which is very inconvenient.

"This was our favorite location to stay in out of our whole trip. The small town was a breath of fresh air from the busier stays in other towns we did later in the travel.
