A beautiful and quaint inn, situated in the heart of an old French village. The back patio is beautifully shaded and a meeting place for guests and locals alike. The bed was perfect as were the pillows. Our hosts were FANTASTIC, friendly, accomodating, helpful and just super nice people. Really good coffee and breakfast topped it off. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Bucket list ticked.
Had a coffee and cake here a few years back and said I would love to actually come back and stay here one day - so we did. We’ve just had a fabulous 3 nights with wonderful hospitality, a great breakfast every morning so I think that’s earned a tick on the bucket list. Amazing place - if you ever get a chance to go its just perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at L’Hostalet. The team are friendly, knowledgeable about the area and restaurants, and could not have done more to make our short stay memorable. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The rooms are air conditioned. The breakfast served outside on the terrace was wonderful with a beautifully presented plate of fruit, homemade jams and bread / croissants and good coffee. Parking is free and it’s a lovely touch to collect and return luggage by trailer / bicycle. The little streets around the hotel are lovely for a wander and we ate at an excellent restaurant in walking distance as recommended by the hotel. We will definitely be back to this little gem of a hotel - thank you for a lovely stay 🙂

A little gem is an apt description.
We enjoyed our stay at and will definitely return to stay at this little gem. Now and then you find that special place that just ticks all the boxes and L'Hostalet is one such a place. Our room with views was charming and stylish with a large comfortable bed and fine linen. I was struck by the high standard of cleanliness. Breakfast L'Hostalet is a must. Mathieu was a delightful host giving the best of sevice to his guest to make their stay enjoyable.

Would give six stars if we could. The hotel Is stunning with comfortable beds, air con, lovely modern bathrooms, views of the quaint pretty streets and a cafe/bar downstairs in the centre square. Service is impeccable. Owner went out of his way to help us: offered to wash our clothes after a bike trip, checked us in with no fuss when we arrived late, shared local restaraunt/museums/sights tips, and during the urgent U.K. quarantine period went out of his way to help in any way possible (including holding our bikes, helping to ship them, providing tools to pack our bikes, checking us out early and selling our extra nights off). This hotel was already 5/5 before a horrible rush to leave France and we can’t thank L’Hostalet enough for a great holiday and then extensive emergency assistance.

Charming, well run small hotel. Spacious room and quiet even on a busy pedestrian village street. Owners very accommodating and kind. Very convenient location to shops, restaurants and train station, beach transport. Only recommendation is the addition of a makeup or shaving mirror in the modern bathroom.

A great stay. Hotel was beside restaurants and shops. Although in the centre of old town we heard no noise and had a great nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Everything was spotless and clean.Staff were helpful and friendly.

Quiet little retreat from the world
It was warm and welcoming. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Lots of little touches from local homemade soap that you don't want to leave behind, to the hospitality to the fridge in the room to the cleanliness I could go on.

Gorgeous traditional hotel with modern flair
An absolute gem of a hotel!! Amazing breakfast, reception and beautiful rooms. The most charming place I have booked in France over the last 30 years! The hosts were warm, attentive and highly respectful. This hotel is a vacation within a vacation!

We stayed only one night. The hotel owner was incredibly generous and attentive to all of the guests at the hotel. It is a small 5 room hotel, however, the ambiance was lovely, the bed very comfortable and the hosts went out of their way to assist and meet with the guests. I would definitely return and I highly recommend this small hotel.

A Gem in the centre of Town
We arrived and were greeted by the most charming and hospitable hotel owner. Speaking perfect english he orgainsed a car space and helped us unload our cases to our second floor room. What a treat we had been upgraded, the room was spacious, very clean and most welcoming. The Owner had tried to phone us earlier to find out if we wanted dinner, what a lovely gesture, however we had made seperate arrangements. We had a very restful night with a very comfy bed, water in the room provided free! the bathroom had a walk in shower. The breakfast was provided in the main square, a small area shared with a few people and a neighbouring bread shop/cafe. Workmen started creating a closed off area while we had breakfast and the owner reduced the price without a discussion. the fresh fruit was beautifly presented and this mixed with homemade jam and bread was delicious. The owner then helped us carry our bags to where our car was parked, some 1/4 mile away. I would recommend this hotel and owner to all, he was brilliant and his hotel reflected it !!!

L'Hostalet is a beautifully restored old stone building centrally located in old Argeles. Wonderful staircase and lovely old stone floors. Rooms are exceedingly comfortable with great bathrooms. Mattieu was extremely helpful and welcoming. He sent me a Map and written directions prior to arrival and was very helpful with information during our stay. Breakfast is very special, served on a terrace in a lovely old square. Not included in the room rate but an experience not to be missed!

Hotel with great personal service.
We stayed in room #11 for 3 days. The room is large with lots of room and a queen-sized bed. The bathroom has been recently remodeled. It has a nice shower with a hand-held as well as a rain shower head. A hair dryer is provided and there are large robes as well. There are two drawers in the cabinet beneath the sink for storing personal items. The windows are new and keep out any noise from the street. There is lots of closet space for hanging items. The room is located in the heart of town. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot for free and is located about three blocks away. There is a patisserie across the street and restaurants available as well. The owner/manager was very helpful and carried our luggage from the car to our room before we parked the car. He also offered some suggestions for sight-seeing (in addition to the list we already had) that were indeed good sites to see. As we left, he handed us treats of baked goods for our morning tea. How sweet was that! This is a place that gives true personal service.

Great value accommodation for anyone.
Mattieu greeted me with a smile and literally could not do more to make my 2 night stay more pleasant. He downloaded walks and routes from the internet, phoned to make restaurant reservations and was always on hand with advice. The guest house, an old stone walled, 3 storey building, in a quiet cobbled street across from the church, was clean, comfortable and peaceful, the breakfasts just about perfect. I particularly liked the minimalist clean lines of the bedroom; my modern en suite(with power shower) was kept spotless.

We really enjoyed our stay at L'Hostalet. The rooms were nice and clean, with simple warm decoration. The breakfast was tasty, with fresh fruit and orange juice, bread and pastries. The best thing though was the friendly staff, they really make you feel welcome and comfortable. We will come back!

Geweldige opvang , zeer vriendelijke eigenaren en personeel.. heerlijk ontbijt, geserveerd aan tafel op het dorpsplein naast het hotel .. auto 3 min verderop gratis parkeren , eigenaar komt je koffers ophalen met een elektrische bakfiets .. top !!!!

La chambre était agréable et très propre. L’établissement impose que chacun se déchausse à l’arrivée. Malheureusement hôtel difficilement accessible en voiture car situé en plein centre (très mignon). Chambre au 3e et dernier étage (sans ascenseur) et mal insonorisée ou pas du tout, nous avons été réveillés très tôt le premier jour par les gens qui prenaient les escaliers qui grincent de façon assez impressionnante. C’était notre lune de miel et nous n’avons pas eu de petite attention sur place, dommage. Deuxième jour une fanfare dans la rue, on croyait qu’elle était dans l’établissement. Troisième jour nous avons dû partir et étions sûrement ceux qui font grincer les escaliers malgré l’envie de faire le plus doucement possible. Établissement décoré avec goût et tenu par des gens très agréables.
