This property was renovated in 2007 to provide comfortable self catering facilities for your perfect holiday. Many original features have been kept such as the stone walls, large wood beams and the wooden shutters. There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room with Portuguese satellite TV (includes some foreign channels) and wood burning stove for the winter. There is a door that opens on to the large balcony overlooking the river and across the valley to the mountains beyond. The kitchen and dining area are in the old converted wine cellar which opens out to the patio and garden with stone built BBQ and outdoor dining furniture. New for 2014 free wi fi connection in the house. The house is 200ms to the river beach and 500ms from the town centre with cafes, restaurants etc. Coja is a small market town of approx. 1500 inhabitants in the district of Arganil The Rio Alva runs through the centre and is spanned by an ancient Roman bridge to join the 2 halves. The house is situated in the more residential half overlooking the river and across to the old cobbled centre on the other side. Central Portugal is a beautiful, rural part of Portugal that remains relatively undiscovered by the hordes of tourists that are normally attracted to the Algarve in the South. There are forests and rivers, mountains and valleys, rural villages and ancient cities to explore. On part se baigner à pied à la praia à 300 m et on part faire les courdes et boire l'apéro à pied à 500 m au village. Belle ballade à pied pour aller à Barril d'Alva Nous n'avons pas eu le temps d'aller à Gois ni à Piodâo, il faut au moins une semaine pour tout faire. ##### jacques S. The house has a good layout, plenty of space including two outside terraces overlooking the river. Everything was clean, working and full of character which for us is the most important aspect. Just a few minutes from a lovely river beach with cafes. The town is also nearby, no need to drive, everything extremely pleasant. The neighbours were very nice and welcoming too. There is a road behind the house, but traffic noise not a problem as it is not busy. This is not a 5 star residence but it is homely, cheerful, comfortable, clean and relaxing and we felt it was very good value. The river beach is one of the best in the area although the house is also a good base to explore further afield. This pretty house is conveniently placed within walking distance of the local shops.The accommodation is comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. Côja is a beautiful village and the house is equally as lovely, right on the riverside. Only a few minutes walk from a bar/ restaurant and where you can swim in the river. 5 min walk from the town centre. The house is well equipped and very comfortable.
