We loved this charming hotel in an even more charming town. The breakfast was great. There are lots of shops just outside the front door and the parking garage is literally next door. Don’t miss the chocolatier, Heimdal, just down the street. Highly recommend.

This beautiful hotel is ideally located just a block from the central bus station and 2 blocks from the harbour front. We were very lucky and although arriving early, could checkin straight away. Our room was very spacious and beautifully appointed. It was at the back of the hotel which suited us as it was very quiet. The light evening meal was delicious as was the extensive breakfast buffet. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Overall, a terrific stay in a very pretty town. We stay in a lot of hotels in Australia and Asia and highly recommend this Norwegian hotel.

The hotel itself is ok- the name is a bit misleading, as there is nothing “grand” about this hotel. We got a room on the backside of the hotel with just a tiny window. If you stay here, insist on the front. The housekeeping was in our room, but didn’t do the bed.

Litt små rom, men god frokost. Personalet var veldig hyggelige og ga oss den servicen vi hadde behov for. Og pluss for sentral beliggenhet. Når det gjelder parkering var den veldig praktisk med parkeringshus ved siden av, men jeg syns vi gjestene kunne fått slippe med billigere pris. 220 kr døgnet er dyrt.

Dessverre fikk vi et rom som noen hadde «glemt» å rengjøre. Tydelige spor at noen hadde ligget i sengen, Flekket sengetøy og gjenglemt pinsett og kork til øyeskylling.. Hverken støvsugd eller vasket. Det var ingen rom ledige, så vi fikk ikke noe nytt. Vi måtte vente på at rommet ble ryddet og vasket. Ære være den stakkars ansatte som var på jobb, og måtte ordne med alt dette. Vi fikk en kompensasjon som var en gratis drink i baren. Slitsomt, når vi også heller ikke ankom før kl 21:00, og måtte vente. Vi hadde gitt en natt gratis, om vi hadde driftet dette hotellet selv. Vi har vært i bransjen, og dette rommet er noe av det verste vi har sett, som såkalt bar rengjort. Vi kommer nok aldri til å booke her igjen.
