Clean tile floors and spacious bed. Frangipani and bougainvillea trees -unseemly - next to you. The hostess - Gemma - had been so gracious, willing to extend any assistance you might have encountered. And a seasoned conversationalist, indeed. The Gem was immaculate, the view from the back porch was stunning, the host was very kind and helpful, and there was pretty much everything you could need there. It’s a 10 minute walk up to the bus stop (if you don’t mind the chaos of the buses), and there are a couple of mini marts along the main road. A 30 minute walk away (off road) is Dis Ole House, which is a very vibey restaurant. Otherwise there just isn’t much locally. If you’re staying for the touristy things (we did), most activities are in Bridgetown. The buses are very cheap, but it’s an expensive taxi (about 45-60 mins).
