Ideal

Staff are great , rooms comfortable and breakfast is a good start . Parking is very restrictive but I parked opposite in Saint Laud , great parking here , 2 minute walk to HDF .. 👍

We found the lady at check in to be an absolute delight. Personable, well-spoken and helpful. Our room was larger than expected, spotless,and quiet (top floor). Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and well stocked. A bit more expensive than some hotels in the area but worth the extra!

The conciege who welcomed us at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful in explaining what we needed to know and he gave us a good tip where to have dinner, namely the Brasserie de la Gare just across from the hotel. While our room had a slightly aged appearance due to the fact that the hotel is 100 years old, everything needed was there. The refrigerator was well stocked and working well, the queen-sized bed was comfortable. The bathroom was completely renovated with new tiles and a modern glass enclosed showerstall, quite nice. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would book it again, except for the breakfast. Breakfast consists of a self service buffet that at first look seems rather nice, which you would expect for the price 20 Euros per person. However we have had better baguettes, the smoked salmon was salty, the cold cuts were of the cheaper kinds of wurst, no scrambled eggs or fried sausages, and the coffee was not very good. 20 Euros for this kind of a buffet is too much, 10 Euros would be adequate. There are better breakfast deals in the restos in the trainstation just across from the hotel

Affordable and near the train station. Room was quiet, sheets wete soft and attached restaurant was fast, reasonably priced and efficient. Front desk spoke excellent English. What more can you hope for?

Great Deal in an amazing city

Hotel de France could use an interior renovattion. The building is absolutely beautifu. The area is absolutely perfect, great food and drinks all around the hotel and Angers is an amazing city

Le personnel est courtois mais démunie devant les remarques sur le matériel trop vieux Oui il coche les cases du 4* mais la vérité est que le couloir sent le tabac et l’ancien très ancien le petit déjeuner aurait pu être bien mais les œufs brouillés sont stocké dans un vieux chauffe plat le café brûlé dans la machine qui a mis longtemps à le produire La machine à jus d’orange en panne et le personnel gentil n’est pas formé Dommage c’est une grosse déception La note donnée par expédia de 8,4 est largement exagérée

J’ai choisi cet hôtel parce qu’il y avait un parking mais j’ai dû stationner mon véhicule à l’extérieur car apparemment un véhicule 7 places est trop gros et trop haut pour le parking. Il serait intéressant de le signaler sur la présentation de l’hôtel. Un peu plus de soins également pour la salle de bain, confère photos
