Overview Our mountain home is a very comfortable 3 bedroom and 2 bath house situated on a 1.36 acre tree filled, hillside lot, which means privacy, peace and quiet while remaining close to all of the attractions and activities. The Ski Lift is a quick 7 min (2.5 miles) drive down the road. The Angel Fire Country Club for golf, tennis, sled hill and Nordic Track is an easy 2 min walk (.4 miles) \*\*\*\*Please note a 4WD vehicle (or chains) is mandatory to access the property in winter - better safe than sorry! Casa Blue Sky offers one complimentary plowing on the day of arrival if there is a significant snow accumulation on driveway. Our house is very well-appointed and comfortable. Stocked with everything you need to enjoy your mountain vacation in beautiful Angel Fire. Casa Blue Sky is a single story, 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house with an accommodating layout. The house is kept very clean and updated. This is our vacation home and hope you will love it, and care for it, as much as we do. Having spent a career in the Hospitality Industry, our aim as hosts is to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We would love our guests to return year after year and make Casa Blue Sky their regular mountain vacation spot. We are extremely open to all feedback and will respond promptly and positively to any opportunities. We truly value our guests! Here are some highlights about the house we know you will appreciate. Outside The house offers majestic views from the large front deck. Over the tops of Ponderosa Pines that surround the property you will have a perfect view of Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico. Sunrise and Sunset from the deck (as well as the living room and master bedroom) are truly awe inspiring and is from which Angel Fire got its name. There are Adirondack chairs for taking in the views and a dining table for outside meals in the warmer months. The back yard is equally enjoyable with a fire pit, Adirondack chairs and a bench swing for relaxing. The back patio has a 5-burner gas grill for preparing delicious and hardy meals for the whole group. Sleeping Arrangements The house has 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a luxurious King-sized bed, writing desk and plenty of storage. The room has a full-sized bathroom with tub and shower. The room has a great view of Wheeler Peak and a sliding glass door which opens to the front deck. The black out shades provide plenty of privacy and light blockage for peaceful sleep. The room has a 45’ smart tv. Bedroom 2 has a new queen size bed with memory phone mattress. Bedroom 3 has a set of bunk beds and perfect for younger guests in the group. Bedroom 2 and 3 share a full-sized bathroom with tub and shower. Living area, Kitchen and Media Room Upon entering the front door, you will notice the open layout of the living room, kitchen and dining area. The living room is comfy and cozy with room for the whole group. Kick back on the full sized electric reclining media couch and chair or sink into the oversized reading chair. The room has a 45” smart tv and a wood burning fireplace to enhance the experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware (everything you need), a 4-burner gas range with griddle accessory, dishwasher and full-sized refrigerator. Coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, crock pot and blender are just some of the other kitchen amenities available for use. In the utility closet you will find a full-sized washer and dryer. The dining area is cozy but offers plenty of room for everyone between the breakfast table and the kitchen bar top. Off of the Living room you will find the game/media room which can be closed off by a heavy barn style door. The room is perfect for watching your favorite movies on the 65” smart tv, playing games on the XBox, or choosing fun things from the board game and puzzle cabinet. We loved the setting of the home surrounded by nature. We saw giant deer and played in the snow. The drive to the ski resort was something like 5 minutes. So convenient. We were able to use the 2nd shower for a warm bathing experience but for future you may consider this improvement. This lovely place was wonderful. Beds are super comfortable! The neighborhood is quiet and can take walks and enjoy gorgeous views! The house is very well stocked. The front porch is perfect for morning coffee while enjoying tons of birds. We also saw deer, chipmunks and squirrels playing. You can walk to the country club restaurant where food is scrumptious. Location is very convenient to Taos, Red River and Eagle Nest. Also less than 3 miles away is Angel Fire ski slopes where you can ride the chair lift and enjoy views of the entire valley. Walking around Monte Verde Lake (5 minutes away) is a beautiful walk where we saw much wildlife. So much to do close by! Highly recommend this gorgeous retreat in the mountains! The views are amazing and it's very peaceful and quiet. We saw deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and an occasional hummingbird. If there's a clear night, you can see every star in the sky, along with the Milky Way. The street wasn't busy and we were able to take our dogs for walks without worrying about a lot of cars. It's easy to get to town and to the trails located nearby. The property was extremely clean when we arrived, and had everything we needed. The game room was a hit for the kids, and the fire pit was a hit for everyone. Lots of s'mores were made, and there were even skewers in the kitchen. We had a wonderful time, and Cole was very helpful before and during our stay. No one wanted to come back home. ##### Stephanie P. Primary bed was very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. Reclining sofas a nice surprise! Game room well stocked. View from front porch, really nice while there is none on the back of the house. The proximity to the club house was awesome as you can walk to grab a burger/salad or enjoy a delicious meal at Elements, the main dining room. Had an issue with the TV operation and the host was very responsive. Had to take off stars because the carpets are old, rippled and stained along with all the area rugs inside and out. It was our experience that the house needs TCL inside and out along with a refresh as example; broken window blinds. It rained when there and if our truck did not have 4 wheel lock, we would not have been able to drive up on the gravel drive and on the drive down, the driveway ended up in the road and had deep ruts. Enjoyed our stay. Layout was perfect for our group of 6\. Game room was a perfect location for the younger part of our group playing the PS4 in the evenings and allowed the rest of the house to be quiet the game room was nearly sound proof. Kitchen was adequately stocked tho some of the supplied items needed to be rewashed and the items left out had some dust on them such as the crock pot. Rooms were comfortable tho the temp in each room was inbalanced. My daughter slept with the window nearly completely opened in the bunk bed room. Smoke alarms were beeping first night every thirty seconds but went away after about 20-30min. They were in unison beeping but not sure why. Owner got back to us on that about 4am. All in all was really an issue just wasn’t sure if that was going to be an ongoing problem and it wasn’t. Spoke with Kathy who manages the property and she was absolutely customer focused and I appreciate the phone call from her. Would stay again knowing what we know and ultimately the issues we had were not showstoppers. We are a flexible group and appreciated the stay. The garage was a bonus as it was a nice place to unload equipment so we didn’t have to drag it upstairs. All in all great trip. ##### mike W. As a bonus, we visited during peak viewing for the changing of the Aspens. The pops of color around Angle Fire were amazing! The property itself was terrific and next to the golf course for those who love to golf. There was major road construction going on between the Club House and the rental property which created a big mess and I wish it had been conveyed to us before we arrived so we could have taken an alternate path to the house. We've stayed at tons of vacation rentals and this was one of the most well-stocked properties we've found. From a plethora of games and DVDs to numerous extra blankets & towels and a huge stack of firewood out back for the fireplace and fire pit. The only negatives I have about the entire stay was the height of the bed in the master bedroom. I'm only 5'1" and I had to use the bed frame to climb into bed because the bed was well over my waist. Otherwise, it was a comfortable bed with ample pillows and blankets. A minor complaint was the front deck and seating areas were not cleaned off. I know it's fall and leaves are everywhere, but I would have thought since they knew there would be guests, the area might have been cleaned up a bit. Neither of these would deter me from staying again or recommending it to others. I'm a travel consultant, so this property is definitely on my list to offer my clients. ##### Michelle O. The kitchen is well stocked with quality cookware and dishes. Big fluffy towels are in the baths. It is a great location, with deer sightings every day! I wouldn’t recommend bringing elderly to this location. We brought my grandparents and we had to go behind the house to use the back door because the stairs to the front door were hard for them. Over all we enjoyed the beautiful deck, deer and the peace and quiet. Very great experience!
