With custom woodwork, warm interiors, and unique local artwork, this space offers a truly authentic Alaskan feel. The home sits perfectly between Anchorage and Girdwood—just 25 minutes to each—and about 35 minutes from the airport, making it an ideal base for exploring the area or simply relaxing in nature.

    Inside, you’ll find a cozy and inviting space surrounded by the natural beauty of Chugach State Park. Whether you're here to ski, hike, sightsee, or look for the northern lights, the location is perfect for adventure and quiet retreats alike. Its close proximity to Alyeska Resort makes it an excellent choice for winter travelers.

    Getting here is easy: take the Seward Highway to Indian Road, turn onto Huot Cir, pass under the Indian Valley Meats sign, and follow the road up to the left. Park in front of the home's driveway, and you’ll receive your check-in code on the day of arrival. Four wheel drive may be needed in poor weather/road conditions, as the driveway is steep.

    We kindly ask that guests respect house rules—no illegal activities, shoes off indoors, wash used dishes, place towels in the hamper, and bring full trash bags to the backyard under the deck. If anything comes up during your stay, just let us know—we’re always happy to help.

The house was amazing. Such a beautiful location and so cozy. We had a blast here and looked forward to returning every night after our adventures. We loved all the art, and the mounts. The balleen fronds on the stairs were my favorite. My son loved watching DVDs. We slept every night watching the stars outside in the upstairs room. Also the kitchen is huge! Everything was perfect. Being across from the meat market was super convenient too. Thank you for letting up share your home for a week.

At first I had some trouble with getting access to the property because the key was missing and one of the bedrooms was dirty. But the host was extremely responsive and fixed any issues I had brought up. The fast response really made a positive difference in my trip. Would highly recommend booking this property again.

We arrived at the VRBO and the road to access the property was not plowed nor was the driveway, so we could not get into the property. We immediately called the property manager, who was not sympathetic nor helpful. We called VRBO to advise and send pictures, However we have yet to receive a refund.

So, we arrived to a dirty property. Trash, dirty laundry, dirty counters and dishes. That wasn’t the worst part though. The property was great once cleaned except there was no way to turn down the heat, even turning it off on every panel didnt do anything!!! Then the “curtains” over the sliding door upstairs aren’t even wide enough to cover the door, made it super hard to sleep on the uncomfortable bed while sweating. The upside is the folks at the meat market who were absolutely wonderful!!!! Also, no where on the listing were we warned of the steep drive not being suitable for a car, luckily we had a truck but as folks from a flat part of the country, this wasn’t fun. THEY SHOULD WARN PEOPLE THAT A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS NEEDED! Also, the “grill” was covered as was every other outdoor space in peacock excrement. Aka gross and seriously not able to use! One last gross thing was the pots and pans available. They were awful, there was nothing that didn’t stick horribly. We ended up basically having to camp style cook. The views and location were the only saving grace of the actual property!
