Straight from the door you can walk to Stockghyll Falls and Wansfell, or a short drive brings you to Great Langdale and Little Langdale, some of the most popular starting points for serious fell walkers. You couldn’t be closer to the action as just across the road you can board the Windermere steamers to Bowness-on-Windermere and Lakeside at the Southern end of Lake Windermere where you can pick up the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway. Ambleside has an abundance of fantastic eateries including many gastro pubs and fine dining options. You’ll find a good number of independent cafés, delis, and bars. You will find a good range of shops from popular high street names and an array of outdoor suppliers.
