Overall, very comfortable.
Overall, very comfortable. Space found for 2 cars parking on site (using a visitor spot). Quiet surroundings for being near the centre of Ambleside.
Negative issues surrounded lack of functioning light bulbs on arrival, luckily there is a hardware store a couple of minutes away. The letting company were contacted and offered to send someone out or refund for the bulbs - the issue is more to do with the checking after previous occupation. To continue the bulb saga, there turned out to be a missing bulb in the double bedroom, the light in the bathroom failed - which the letting company had to repair which was done speedily. Lastly , in this area, the extraction fan from the kitchen was broken!, which apparently had not been logged.
And the final issue; someone had managed to leave some knickers at the head of one of the single bed - goodness knows how there were missed during cleaning.
Would I stay again? Yes! But would hope for a better level of cleaning/checking,

This is the second time we have stayed at Oaklands.
This is the second time we have stayed at Oaklands. We have probably stayed at about 15 other Ambleside properties (yes - we go every year). This one is the best location and has the best parking. It is only a few minutes level walk to all Ambleside amenities.
The appartment is fine with good views of surrounding fells. The only drawback is it is on the second floor so there are a few flights of stairs to cope with. It is well equipped though the sofas are a rather soft.

Perfect place for adults seeking peace & quiet.
Perfect place for adults seeking peace & quiet. Astonishing how quiet the property is considering how close it is to the village centre! Not the most lavishly equipped place we have stayed in but perfectly adequate & includes free wifi and Freeview TV. We took our own towels, but they can be provided for a small extra cost. Flat was extremely clean throughout, with comfortable furniture & beds. Great view of fells from sitting room. Would definitely book again.
