Find Hotels with Pool in Amakhala Game Reserve

There is no better safari geared up for families in the world. We had the best time ever as did our seven year old daughter, and the staff couldn’t have done any more for us. This place is THE gold standard in luxury safaris and Riverdene ensured it worked for children too without compromising quality for adults too. Cannot recommend highly enough and thanks so much to all the team!

Woodbury is a small lodge which made it easy to get to know wveryone. The staff were wonderful; nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a great experience. The food was fantastic and everything was homemade and delicious. We had an amazing time and can highly recommend it

Beautiful lodge, recently renovated rooms. Service and food was amazing. Game drives twice daily. It was a truly memorable experience albeit a very expensive one, but you get what you pay for.

We had an amazing stay at the Shamwari Long Lee Manor. Staff provided excellent service pampering us and taking care of our every needs and I had definitely put on some weight. The meals were wonderful we sure had one of the best lamb racks and braai dinner with our ranger was fantastic. Our ranger Abel was excellent, knowledgeable and a very humble man. Abel made sure we had the greatest game viewing experience which included chasing elephant herds and lion prides through the raw vegetation. We...

This turned out to be an excellent family holiday. We originally chose the tented camp option as it was the cheapest way for the four of us to stay on one of the private game reserves (Woodbury Tented Camp is located in the Amakhala game reserve), however I would now recommend this option over a regular lodge as it offered the perfect balance of adventure and comfort (electric blankets on the beds!). The staff were all very friendly and our guide, Melumzi, did an excellent job of tracking...

Amazing lodge with amazing staff. Our two night stay with 4 safari drives was amazing.

We loved the Shearers lodge. The staff were all excellent and we enjoyed our first game drive. This was a two night taster and we would come back again.

A luxury all- inclusive game lodge experience. The 8km drive from the main road is dirt and gravel so a little challenging for our tiny hire car. A warm welcome on arrival and our room was very spacious and comfortable ( the bed was quite hard but perhaps the mattress was new). An indoor and outdoor shower meant you could wash under the incredible stars in the night sky if so inclined. Lodge was comfortable and well decorated if slightly lacking in atmosphere. Not sure if the pools were for...

Wonderful country house, delicious food, great caring staff. Safari drives were amazing, saw the 'big five' on our first day. Thoroughly recommended!

Fantastic staff and excellent ranger with great knowledge of animals and area

We stayed in the Kudu Suite at the Waterfront lodge part of Pumba. Room was massive with two bedrooms with stunning views over the water, a lounge area and two bathrooms. Each with its own bath, one being a jacuzzi bath and open glass showers capturing the magnificent views. Even got to shower with the monkeys looking on! With two safaris each day, we also got to see many animals including rhino, elephant, giraffe, lion and buffalo. We even got to see the hippo in the water from our room. Our...

Great safari rides in a very natural environment, excellent food, just a great overall experience

Absolutely incredible stay from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff really look after you. James our guide for the 3 days we were there was great. The food is so nice and there is lots of it! We really couldn’t fault any of it! Thank you all at Founders Andrew & Nicola

A really lovely and relaxing place to spend a few days whilst visiting the game reserves. Very attentive staff, a large and comfy bedroom A lookout deck, pool, hammock and outdoor seating area are all lovely, and would be fabulous in warmer weather. Three course dinner (set menu) was delicious and all home-prepared on site. The dining room is also very nice, and we were seated right by the fire - very welcome in August. The shower did go cold on us twice, but I think in winter it's harder...

Jade is a wonderful hostess. Very clean and comfortable suite, great restaurant nearby.

Sundune Guest House is a really lovely place to stay near Addo Elephant Park. The Manager, Byron, welcomed us warmly and with great charm, the room was large and very clean with en suite facilities and satellite TV. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the garden and the river. Highly recommended.
