Altamont Gardens

We stayed in the traditional double room with king bed and ensuite for our last night in Ireland. We were warmly greeted by Tiia who showed us our room and the amenities in the kitchen area. She was a pleasure to chat with and full of helpful suggestions, The room was clean, cozy, quiet with a comfy bed and nice shower. It is a short walk to the Malahide castle and it's lovely gardens and trails. It is also a short 10-15 minute walk into the village in which we enjoyed a nice dinner at the Greedy Goose. We would definitely stay here again on our way out of town. So much better than an airport hotel.

Decent budget stay—you get what you pay for 👍 The highlight of this hostel is the staff; the check-in agent was incredibly friendly, approachable, and accommodating. * Location: Not right in the heart of the center, but very accessible. It’s just a short walk to a bus stop that connects you directly to Temple Bar, etc.. Plus, a cheap airport bus stops only a few steps away. * Room: I booked a 2-bed dorm. The bed was okay and served its purpose, but wasn't the most comfortable. The room can get noisy since it faces the street and sits near the common washroom (you'll hear people coming and going). Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Also, the layout is a bit of a maze, and I kept getting lost finding my room. * Facilities: The shared bathroom is clean with plenty of toilet/shower cubicles and sinks. Body wash/shampoo is provided, but towels may cost extra, so bring your own. Verdict: The overall appearance is just okay. It is definitely not a fancy stay, but it is acceptable for the price. I would probably stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights. We arrived early and the staff was inviting - they got us into our room early too. The room was very modern and we loved it. The breakfasts were wonderful. We ate there every morning. The location is close to everything downtown Dublin. We walked to all the touristy sites from the hotel. We even walked to the train station to catch the train to spend the day in Malahide. We would recommend this hotel to our friends visiting Dublin.
