Alpine Taxidermy & Wildlife Museum

I enjoyed the visual appeal and the staff was lovely; however the functionality was lacking. Staff greeted guests arriving. Check-in was smooth. The housekeeping staff in the halls were friendly. The staff at the cafe were informative and helpful. We requested a roll away bed that was delivered very quickly. The room was well laid out; with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The balcony was nice with a great view. The location was excellent with quick walks to Davis street for food and to Robson Square with art and higher end shops was a quick walk in the other direction. The hotel is right across the street from the light up Vancouver sign. Unfortunately, the functionality of the hotel is where it went downhill. Despite it appearing that there was a dedicated air conditioning unit on the balcony, it took hours to cool down the room. The beds were very firm and uncomfortable. One of us chose to sleep on the sofa instead and had a better night sleep than the other guests. There were only two small elevators running and it took 22 minutes to get an elevator down when we were leaving. It would have taken longer but we pushed the up button and road the elevator up and then back down stopping at every floor where others were also waiting to get on. The worst piece was the water situation. We confirmed it was not just our room. We were unable to shower because the water options were scolding or icy. We each tried and each opted to wash off at the sink.

All was good

Very good spot to stay at and good surroundings too.
