Great location with all you need

Posted 21-Mar-2017
Pros: Breakfast staff room and Veranda flexibility of rules
Cons: A little more information on arrival about the hotel facilities.
Location: Take day train trip to Tavira and/or any of the little towns on the west end. Visit the Faro cathedral Take in some of the great pubs/restaurants
The hotel has all the needs of any traveller. Breakfast is excellent in variety and is served on the roof restaurant overlooking the marina and nature reserve on the coast. There's no where else Id rather be? The rooms in the hotel are spotless if not a little on the small side But they include a veranda where one can sit and drink wine while life passes bye. This was our second trip to this hotel and Faro we will be back. Another big plus is the bus and train station are next door with access to lots of local places. We are taking the Bus to Saville as our next stop. cheers tom tom

Marina view

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Pros: Ambience, courtesy and professionalism of staff, location.
Cons: Suggest clients are advised not to play radios etc on balconies and be intrusive to other clients.
Location: Ideal for walking around the main and old town, enjoying the marina and ease of good eating places if one does not dine in the hotel.
Again a pleasant stay only spoiled due to neighbouring balcony playing a radio with 'musack' so not relaxing to sit on balcony and enjoy the view until later when they had gone out. Upgrade of rooms has been done in an excellent manner and new patio doors very secure, breakfast very good but flavour of coffee disappointing.

It was all good. We like to sleep a little cold but was unable to because hotel thermostat was still set for heat.

Great spring break

Posted 16-Mar-2017
Pros: Friendly staff. Good restaurant and nice bar. Roof top seating area with pool. Good position for town, travel facilities
Cons: Rooms on the hot side - air conditioning not working in March although by British standards temperatures of 25c warm. Noisy if balconey doors open.
Location: Old town very interesting. Shops, restaurants nearby. If interested in the macabre visit the Capella dos Ossos . Ferry to offshore island
We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights last September and enjoyed the short stay so much we decided to stay this spring for eight nights. The hotel is in a very convenient position on the marina in Faro. Next door is the bus station with links to other parts of the Algarve. Within five minutes is the railway station where if you are over 65 and have your passport you get senior rate rail travel. From the other side of the marina are ferries/ trips to the offshore islands. The ferry is great value. The hotel has a welcoming spacious lobby with very friendly staff. We arrived very early and the luggage was safely stowed away. When we returned later we were immediately recognised and the luggage brought out. The reception staff are helpful, knowledgeable and speak good English. Restaurant is excellent with huge variety at breakfast and evening meals prices are comparable to those in town and of a high standard.

Great Room with a sea view (209)

Posted 16-Mar-2017
Would recommend this hotel for a visit to Faro. Good breakfast and room cleaned daily. Easy check in and out with staff friendly and helpful at all times. In my opinion it's definitely worth paying a little extra to get a room overlooking the sea as the others overlook a busy road. Birthday free bottle of bubbly delivered to my room was a nice touch. No 16 bus runs from the airport to the bus station next to the hotel and costs 2.25 Euros. However if the bus times don't suit then a taxi including luggage in the boot comes in at 12 - 14 Euros. Stayed March 2017, travelled as a couple

Great views over the marina

Posted 15-Mar-2017
Great staff. Good breakfast buffet in indoor or outdoor area overlooking marina. Good sized pool, but cold in March! Nice room with good walk-in shower room. Safe, hairdryer and fridge but no tea/coffee making facilities. Loved Faro. Well worth €3:50 to go in the cathedral and up the bell tower. Going back in 2 weeks. Definitely ask for sea/marina view.

Super hotel overlooking the marina,

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Pros: Friendly and helpful stff. Great as a base as near buses and trains. Lovely views over the marina
Cons: Tea making facilities in the rooms would be a bonus. Softer beds or toppers-my husband liked the firm matress but too firm for me
Location: Excellent location for accessing both the old town and main city shopping precinct. Hop on the noddy train- useful to get your bearings for exploring
Room with wonderful views overlooking tge marina. ...... but you have tobook marinq/sea view not city vuew, well worth the little extra. Hotel staff really can't do enough for you.and always very polite and helpful. The rooms and hotel are all very clean, well furnished and relaxing. The pool area on the roof is great but deserted during our visit in March. Relaxing little ar in three foyer. Very close to the rail and bus station so easy to use this as a base to explore tge rest of tge Algarve which we did. Easy for a mini break as only 10 mins from the airport so we will definitely be back. Visit the old town, there are some excellent restaurants up there used more by tge locals. Or A Venda is great for tapas which is up a little back street away from the marina. Just lay back and enjoy your break in Faro, we did.

Room was ok. Furniture old but clean with nice bedding. Negative was the damp smell in our room
