Good hotel on the strip! Convenient to the beach and bars! Good air con and also heating option because I have was freezing after a siesta with air con on! But that’s a good thing. Staff were accommodating polite and even refreshed my room on the second day! Thankyou so much Hotel Avenida Praia for the best weekend xx

Dirty but close to festivals
Really dirty hotel rooms and the staff at the check in desk are so rude. the beds are tiny and same with the rooms. There are much cheaper options that are much nicer on the portimao strip. The only positive of staying here is that it was 5-10 min walk to the Rolling Loud and Afronation festivals.

Room was very clean. Cleaned everyday including towels etc. Good value for a three star. Good do with bigger pillows as very small. Night club opposite very noisy on the weekend. Ok with door shut to sleep. Does have Aircon and a little fridge for water etc. Very small balcony but see view.

This hotel is in a great location with access to the amazing beach and local restaurants and nightlife. We were on the 2nd floor and stayed for one week. You'd need to be on a higher oor for a good sea view. The nightclub opposite is lively and open until 4am. We didn’t find this an issue at all. Maybe a problem if you're a light sleeper or have children. We were in bed early and also early to rise. We saw, from our balcony, lots of people having left the club behaving with no issues. Im really impressed at how well organised everything was. Breakfast options were limited but sufficient. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time here and would happily book again.

The hotel is located directly on the main street near the beach, so it is great location, the room was ok, tiny balcony overlooking the club, the music plays till around 1 am. But my big issue is the incorrect description of the hotel, I chose it because it says parking available - but not on the property, when I asked the young lady at the front desk she couldn't even help me where to park!?!?! Had to ask staff at near by bar who gave me excellent advice.

Just a budget hotel
It’s a mixed bag! As usual, it’s better to do a list of the good and the not that much, but to be fair, it’s more or less what I expected for the amount paid. So let’s begin by highlighting the best: - Great location, for both the daytime and nighttime activities. - Good breakfast for the budget you’re paying for. - Nice staff; very attentive guy the day of check in That’s all! The CONS: - Really, really, really very bad bedding and “pillow”, if you can even call that one. Quite bad!!! - Old and not well kept, though very spacious bathroom, which is not common. - A bit noisy, but if you get a room not facing the street, you shouldn’t have any issues. I’d say I wouldn’t go back, since sleeping quality is very important for me. But it’s not expensive, which is not common in the area.

My return visit.
A traditional style hotel on main strip in Praia da Rocha, very convenient to shops, bars, restaurants. Level street outside, but steps to the beach. Bus route very close. Hotel is very clean, if dated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Stored my luggage on my last day. Able to borrow hair dryer. Excellent value for money.

Great value for a lively night out.
Amazing value and location for a night out on the Rocha strip. Be aware you can't actually drive the last few yards to the hotel as it's in a controlled zone, we found free on street parking a couple of minutes walk away. The double gazing and high floor seemed to eradicate any noise but be aware it is located in the centre of the strip.

Location of this hotel was the best part of it. Very central and across the road from the beach with many restaurants and shops within minutes walk from front door. The hotel is obviously older and somewhat dated but it was clean and comfortable just remember you are getting an average place for a inexpensive price. Think this place is best suited for solo travelers looking to stay near beach close to bars,etc for little money

The hotel was very disappointing was in agreat location but was in need of major updating. The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were ridiculous very disappointing for the area.

Mix with the young.
Hotel located right on Avenida where nightlife can be found. As I was on 5th floor the only noise I heard were seagulls each morning. Room was traditional with fridge, hairdryer and balcony.Staff were so pleasant and helpful. The price is so reasonable. I did not have breakfast but is available 0800-1000 for 4euros. Beautiful beach and lots of restaurants and bars. A great trip.

The staff was great and very helpful It is right in the club strip but I was on the 5th floor so didn't really hear the noise of the clubs. Due to the hotel being b and b it doesn't have that atmosphere like those with the all inclusive feel, where customers all talk and mingle, in saying this the stay was pleasant

The location and price is fantastic. This was our second time staying here. It is right in the middle of the noisy nightlife, so if you’re an early night person or with a family may not be the place for you...loud til about 4am. Breakfast was simple with cheeses meats, buns and coffee for 4 euro. We made an extra sandwich for lunch later.

Great price, right by the beach. Excellent customer service, we had an issue with our transportation back to the train, very close to missing it & being stranded , they helped out & got us there with a min to spare!

Clean and tidy rooms. My room had a large terrace which was nice. Most staff were very helpful but one staff member wasn't particularly helpful or friendly which was a little off putting. I had a room at the back of the property even though my reservation stated that I had a front facing, see view room.

Hotel is located on the main strip. Reasonably priced and clean. Beds were a little uncomfortable but I managed. I was in a room at the front of the hotel so it was loud due to being on the strip but ear plugs sorted that. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. Could have been more selection for breakfast but at €4 it was grand.

Terrible hotel across the street from a nightclub
Arrived to find out there was no wifi in the rooms, only at reception; had booked in order to be able to work in the room, so was a disaster for me.

The Housekeeper stole our money !
It was a prefect great location just far from the airport but amazing spot and great room for price BUT the staff are awful...the housekeeper stole 200euros from my purse and 70 euros from my friends purse and 60pounds also. We reported it to the receptionist and 2 male owners who didnt help us and didnt believe us. we called police the police reported it and told us the hotel has a bad repuation for housekeeper taking money from the rooms. the police was helpful but the hotel staff did not care and stuck up for the housekeepers. the hotel is not good and they are known to hire staff who take your money from your room as advised by the police himself. please dont book they just want your money . they never helped or give me my money back ever. poor service ever.

Nice hotel according to place and money. Everything is near at hotel. Clean but still has a bad old type smell. No carpets in room and even in bathroom.

Budget get away
Very basic accommodation at a really cheap price. We got what we expected which was a place to sleep at night and not much more. There is a lovely view of the beach from the rooms at the front of the hotel, but this was offset by the night club located across the street which boomed out noise until 4 or 5 am. It was hard to rest and sleep. I would not use the hotel again but don't regret the booking. located right in the middle of the main strip. Parking was difficult to find each time we returned with our rental car.

Disappointing experience
Booked and paid 11 months in advance for a 3 star hotel; first room we were given was mouldy from the ceiling to the floor. Moved later to another one less mouldy but still filthy and smelly. Bedding stained, see-through, with holes, old bumpy pillows, mattress protector stiff and making rustling noise. Could not sleep at all from the noise coming from the street and local pubs / clubs; moved to a back side room, it was quieter. Bathroom filthy, covered in lime-scale, no hair-dryer, shower curtain was white, turned orange - brown from filth and lime-scale. Bath incredibly dirty, brown - grey colour, used to be white. Fridge not working, but replaced on my request. The whole place need to be cleaned, fully refurbished, it 's so out of date. Even plants at the front door are completely withered, dead. I suffer allergies on dust and mould, had to take my antihistamine drugs as a prevention while staying in this hotel. I have taken photos of the rooms, would be happy to forward them to you should you want.

Well it was....
Expedia said there was a bar and pool at this hotel.... It's closed til summer, that would have been nice to know. There is a night club across the street so if you want an ocean view, don't plan on sleeping til 4am. Hotel staff was very helpful! But my shower head didn't work so showering was an interesting event. Luckily it's so close to the beach and surrounded by many delicious resturants I didn't need to spend much time at the hotel.
