In the room was a coffee machine which during out stay was replenished daily. Breakfast was included and was buffet style with cold meats,cheese, pastries and fruit all very nice. The owner was very helpful with ideas for our stay. The drive into the city takes around 10 minutes and there is free evening parking in the centre. The hotel is situated upon a hill overlooking Akureyri and the magnificent waterfront. The room offers a breathtaking view of the waterfront and I felt like I could spend hours just staring at the view. The hotel has a handful of rooms and that adds to the very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are quite clean and spacious and very elegantly furnished. The floor to ceiling windows and the private patio allow you to soak in the amazing view. We found the breakfast to be simple but yet wholly adequate. My wife and I are vegetarians but we felt very satisfied with the options on offer. The only very minor feedback we would have is to keep the slices of cheese separate from the slices of meat at breakfast. Since people tend to use the same serving fork for both the meat and cheese, the vegetarians may feel uncomfortable taking the cheese. That said, it is kept in immaculate order, and I’m sure the extension will be great. Currently it’s just 8 rooms, and won’t be so much bigger next year, but will have an internal lift so you don’t have to go outside to get to the lower rooms. There isn’t a restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is a good start to the day.
