"Pros: Wir waren schon mehrfach in Wolfach, aber das erste Mal in dieser Ferienwohnung. Die Lage in der Altstadt ist perfekt - man ist nur wenige Minuten entfernt von zahlreichen Restaurants, Cafés etc. Auch für Kinder gibt es einige Spielplätze in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr großzügig und gerade die riesige Küche ist gut ausgestattet! "We were hesitant to write a review of our experience staying in this hotel, however i feel this must be known for future guests if they are considering staying in this hotel. We were told on the day of arrival that they don't have hot water, and heating system has broken down. We were also told we were the only 2 guests in the hotel. The owner of the hotel replied he doesn't know when this will get fixed and most likely will be after we leave. We found it hard to believe, as a running business this cannot be fixed as soon as possible, or fixed on the same day. We endured 3 nights and 4 days showering with cold water. There was no heating system and we were given a portable heater only. On our last day we were leaving, we learned he was expecting guests with a young family arriving the same day. It was clear from that day we felt fooled and cheated by the owner for purposely turning the heating system off as we were the only 2 adult guests there in the whole hotel. We thought to ourselves surely the guests with young children will require hot water and heating. After reading the most recent review its seems obvious our thoughts were right, the owner can't be bothered to turn on the water heating system for us because we are only 2 adult guests, maybe to save money. There was no mention of no hot water or heating system from the young family so i would assume it was turned on back for them, very dissapointing for us and in a way has spoilt our stay."

"For the price you pay, it’s not bad. The decor may need an update, but the pictures online are true to form. My only real gripe was the plastic mattress protector on the obviously new mattress- you’ll wake up in a pool of sweat in the middle of the night. Nevertheless, I still give my overall experience 5 stars because of the hotel’s staff. They went above and beyond to help me from restaurant reservations, what points of interest to see, and even printed several documents I needed for me. At the end of the day, a hotel is really just a fungible service - a bed to sleep in. The difference is service. I would definitely recommend. "

"Our stay was three days, the staff were friendly and very helpful from the moment we arrived. The pool and spa areas were superb, and having Black Forest Gateaux with a pot of tea by the pool was not something we expected to be able to do - but very memorable. The breakfast was epic, it’s plain to see how very proud the chefs are, and this is reflected in the quality and range of breakfast items available. We had guest e bikes (at no charge) we explored the local forest area, this made the hills very easy to navigate - the bikes were of excellent quality. "
