Much of our time was spent on the back deck and dock, enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the vibrant wildlife (including a terrapin laying its eggs.) The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans in order to cook meals if you choose, or you can head to nearby Ott’s for a lovely farm to table meal. Shane is an excellent host and is extremely responsive with messages in order to answer questions or provide information. We highly recommend this home for a week long or weekend getaway. The location was great -- you feel secluded and yet are close to everything. Ten minute drive to LBI. Plenty to do in the area or you can just relax and enjoy the view. I can't say enough good things about our experience! When we walked in, the first thing that hit us was how clean and modern everything was. We immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. When we walked onto the deck, we were greeted by a Great Blue Heron and two little ducks. Being a bird lover, this was so wonderful! During our trip, we would also see an Eagle, cormorants and many song birds, including the red-winged blackbird, who's song is one of my favorites. Of course, the location is perfect! The views were amazing, even at night. LBI, EdwinB.Forsythe Wildlife Refuge's 8-mile drive trail and the Smithville Village are all less than 30 minutes away. All of the furniture/bed were clean and very comfortable. The check-in was seamless and Shane was very pleasant and responsive. We can’t get over how perfect our stay was! The house is exactly as shown in pictures. Cannot go wrong staying in this Immaculate, recently renovated and well cared for house and property. Five minute drive to route 72 and twelve minute drive to the island.
