It was part of an 8 day trip which included 5 hotels and this was almost double the cost of the other, good quality hotels. The hotel and amenities are excellent and I would have awarded a higher rating for the ambience……however we were very disappointed with the set meal at £69 per head. We had invited my husbands mother to join us and felt that it wasn’t value for money. The bar was suffering from staff sickness and service was slow…..but the head barman was very good and apologetic for any inconvenience. Overall a very nice hotel, but expensive." The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms did lack outlets but I believe that is because it is older. The hotel had a very friendly and helpful staff. I was happy I could easily rent a bike at a low cost for the day from the hotel. The breakfast was fantastic! So many choices and all so fresh. It was wonderful too to enjoy eating while viewing the Rhine. (Sadly on the second day of our stay they hosted the breakfast temporarily in the hotel large banquet space - this was not so nice!). The only downside of the hotel is that it is busy! It is not small - it's a huge hotel and thus breakfast, the lobby, and other common areas were always full of people. Check-in and out are not quick processes so allow for some extra time. Despite minor inconveniences, I would gladly return to this hotel and this time stay longer!"
