I, along with four other family members, stayed in Fanningstown House for a little over a week at the end of November. The location is amazing, and as we rented a car it was easy to make day trips all over the country. Fanningstown House was an amazing place to stay. As soon as we arrived in Adare I was able to call Angela, who immediately met us at the house and gave us a wonderful tour. Some food was already in the fridge and pantry, which was a beautiful thing to jet-lagged Americans too tired to immediately think about grocery shopping. The house is a great size, with lots of room for everyone. We had a great time sitting by the fireplace most nights, and it was always a wonderful place to come home to.
The WiFi worked very well, especially downstairs. Having laundry was a huge plus; the dryer took longer than we’re used to, but Angela had walked us through that so we planned ahead and it wasn’t an issue. Other than the first few days we found we only needed the heat turned on for a few hours in the morning and evening, but not during the day when we were out and about, or when we were sleeping. The house does a great job holding the heat, but be aware that it is by meter, and that can add up. We really appreciated all of the information provided by Angela; there are folders in the living room and laundry room full of information about pertinent household details (e.g. which bins are for what), as well as good places to eat/emergency numbers/other information tourists would be glad to have.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and all five of us agreed we would definitely stay at Fanningstown House again!
