"Mercure Heuroville-St.Claire staff was great and very helpful. The restaurant was quite good but a very limited menu. Breakfast was excellent! Our room was okay but too hot after the whole hotel AC was turned off. We had no way to just run the fan or open a window. It was also in an industrial area that we will avoid if we return to the Caen area."

"Location of hotel is perfect, in the middle of town. Hotel has been done up, very clean. Plenty of parking out front (we had forgotten to book the hotel's covered carpark), but it was off season so might be a lot busier in the summer. Staff for check in and check out couldnt have been nicer and more helpful. Highly recommend!! "

"We took the biggest and the most expensive room in this hotel. The room had an amazing big kitchen, yet no normal shelves in the bathroom. Room was big, bed was a tiny queen size. No air conditioner Phone in the room has no connection to the reception/room service/housekeeping etc. For us, the cold welcome, unfriendly attitude - were a first time experience and hopefully the last one. "

"In a cramped and busy tourist town, this hotel is a rare gem. It has excellent parking and is very well situated to walk into the town - just a few minutes. The room was lovely and well appointed. There are 2 breakfast options, with an express service from reception for those with small appetites or on a budget."

"The hotel is very beautiful to look at. The (junior) staff are excellent. The breakfast is very good. But everything appears to be done with a view to appearances. The rooms are newly refurbished but the work has been done cheaply. It won’t last. There was no senior manager on site for much of our stay and the place seemed rudderless. There were occasions when there were no staff to be found. The swimming pool was gated and the gates locked by a mechanism that not one of the guests could...
