"Central Hotel"
Easy access to old city. Historical aspects and museums to visit, closed Monday's though. A good variety of food outlets for a wide range of people. Compared to the UK food and drink is inexpensive.

"Good Hotel in the heart of Old Town, Riga"
Hotel is located in in Old Town. There is a pub and bakery right across the street and at least three coffee shops within a stone's throw. The staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous. The complimentary breakfast is sufficient although provides little variety from day to day. The dining room is in the lower level. It is clean but there are noticeable cob webs in some of the corners. The rooms are fine. Nothing fancy. They were plenty warm even when it was -5 degrees outside. The furnishings are simple. The bathrooms have no bathtub. The shower is one corner of the bathroom and the shower water simply goes to a drain in the middle of the floor....OUTSIDE the shower area. I don't get it. By the time we finished a shower, the whole bathroom floor is wet. We managed to reduce the water migration by the way we positioned the shower nozzle but it only had a minimal effect. WiFi was spotty at best! It was very frustrating. We were on the floor above the lobby and couldn't keep a connection for more than a few minutes at a time. The staff were aware but were limited in what they could actually do to solve the problem Finally, the noise. Every night around 1:30 to 2 am, the pub would close down and all its patrons would move into the street in front of the hotel and of course did what drunk people do... were very loud. If you are looking for a place to lay your head, for a couple of nights, this will suit your needs but look for extravagance here.

"Really nice place to stay..."
When we arrived, we were greeted by the nicest people. The hotel staff treated us like we owned the place. They put us in room 504, which was across from the old church and we had a nice view of part of the town. We really enjoyed our room, it was large and comfortable. The bed was typical European and we slept very nice. We had a two person bathtub and that is unusual for the places I travel to. If I had any suggestion at all, it would be to turn up the heat on the hot water... it was pretty warm but not "bath" hot. The hotel is located a real easy 10 minute walk to "Old Town". You pass through the Market area, which is hard to not want to walk around and see. That market had everything, so when you see it, spend some time. The walk around Old Town is easy as the town itself is not that large. Lots of history to see. The food was great, the beer was great, the people were great.

"Quiet clean place close to the city"
The hotel is clean and comfortable, not glamorous. Staff are friendly and anxious to please. Buffet breakfast is perfectly adequate. The neighbourhood is extremely quiet. On a direct bus line to Old Riga, but also walkable for the more adventurous ( view of the city from the bridge is wonderful). restaurant is also very good.

"Exellent for its price"
New and modest hotel. Walking distance to Central Railway and Bus station and downtown. Clean. I recomend very tasty breakfast for additional price 5euro p.p. It was a little annoyed plastic mat between between sheet and mattress like in kindergarten.

"Modern Hotel in old neighbourhood"
Hotel is clean and attractively decorated. My room but compact, but spacious enough. Ample power points, fast wifi and a large desk were great assets. The bathroom was small but clean with modern fittings. Some reviewers were put off by the hotel's neighbourhood. With its acres of cobbles over the roads, tram lines and old buildings in various stages of dilapidation and restoration, it does look like old pictures of Manchester circa 1910. But I had no problems. The cobbles certainly magnify noise from any passing vehicle, even a small car going down the road outside my window. I left my window open due to the lack of air conditioning, so the rubber-on-cobbles thrumming was added to the distant background hum of the city. Best asset is the No 7 tram route; the stop to city centre is less than 50 metres from the front door. The tram service is frequent for most of the day and evening. It takes you straight to the bus station, rail station and heart of the tourist areas on each side of Bastion Hill park; the line runs up the west side of this lovely park and stops outside the Opera House and National Theatre. 5 day ticket costs 15 euros for unlimited travel on Riga buses, trolleybuses and trams.
