"Close to the mountain, lots of restaurants"
First night was a Spring Break party, past 11pm. There were kids running up and down the halls, vomiting and smoking. Someone else had a barking dog down another hall. (Note to self: next time, ask if pets are allowed. I'm allergic. WAsn't a problem in our rooms, but I've had trouble in past) We asked management for help, they talked to the group, but it took a few tries to get the party to stop. The police were called. Not management's fault. But the walls ARE thin. Could hear everything. Balcony next to us also filled with people, next to our window. Management offered to move us, but it was late, so we moved the next day to a quieter spot in the hotel. For our troubles, management also offered us dinner. Spring break kids also toiletpapered the hot tub on Sunday. Note to self: don't vacation on spring break. But tip to hotel: any way to better soundproof the rooms? I could even smell the pot thru the walls. No sound problems in second room.
First bathroom had peeling paint on the ceiling. The second bathroom was fine. This hotel could be updated, but it was cozy. Fireplaces in lobby and the bar area, outdoor hot tub in the colder months was nice, with a little fire pit there. indoor Pool didn't seem welcoming, not well lit, and storage stuff near the wall, so we avoided it. Outdoor pool closed for the season. Breakfast was great, including waffle bar, sausages, homemade muffins, good jam, real maple syrup. Nice tea selection, good coffee. Even a free movie theater!
