We have just come back from a great relaxing fortnight in these villas, on arrival I went to the office to collect our key and book in and that was the last we had any contact with the office as everything was spot-on . We had booked a 2 bedroom apt. as our daughter was coming with us for the first week and that turned out to be a godsend due to the fact that all the 1 bedroom apts. are more or less basement like with no outlook whatsoever and not recommended, we had room no. 102 which was all on the level next to the pool. The pool area is the real hub of the place and there are ample beds for everyone, the pool is a good size and it has steps to walk in /out and the maximum depth is only 1.5 metres. There is the pool bar which is run by Isobel who works from 9 .00 until 9.00 at night and never stops she is brilliant and will make you anything you want and all at very reasonable prices.
In the apt. everything you need is there with an electric hob + oven and all you require in a kitchen, the living room area is basic and my only gripe is that the sofas are not at comfy and could do with an upgrade, the TV is a modern one and I had taken a hard-drive with films on to watch later at night and it had the USB connection required, the 2 bedrooms had all you need tons of wardrobe and drawers for everything to keep a woman happy. The beds are on the solid side but that's up to each persons opinion. each bedroom opened out to the veranda with beautiful views to the sea and ADP
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, from the minute we stepped foot into reception till the moment we checked out, all of the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The facilities at the hotel is what you'd expect for a 5* hotel and there was variety of food served during breakfast and dinner to suit every individual's needs. I have to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel and would definitely recommend this place to friends and families. I am also looking to book a holiday at this hotel again next summer!
We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the ground floor. There were only the two of us so plenty of space and a bathroom each. The apartments all have glass sliding doors opening from each room onto a balcony. There are 7 large round pools beautifully laid out and positioned so that they catch the sun all day and are never in the shade. There are plenty of sunbeds and a small expensive café nearby. It looks like the complex was built in an old olive grove as the original olive trees have been left but cut down to about 8 feet to prevent too much shade. the lawns are well kept and palm trees have been planted to create a very neat and pleasing environment. There is a supermarket a few 100m from the complex and very nice beach is about a 500m walk away. We did not eat at the restaurants, use that beach or any of the facilities other than the pools. We caught the open topped bus in to Albufeira town and to the Oura beach area almost every day. Cost is 30 eu each for a 4 day pass and the ride to Oura beach takes about an hour, bearing in mind that this is a sightseeing bus and is slow. The area was a little quiet for us and too far from the Albufeira old town and Oura/Leste beach area that we love. I would recommend that you arrange a car beforehand unless you are planning to have a very relaxing and uneventful time; we took a brochure from the reception but the car hire firm was unable to deliver a car and it got too complicated which was why we opted for the bus.
We had a fantastic holiday at Glenridge. The staff were very friendly and professional. The apartment itself was very spacious and clean - the biggest and nicest bathroom we have ever had on a self catering holiday. The pool area is always clean and the large baby pool is really great for toddlers. A great location for us as it is near some nice restaurants and not too far from the beautiful Gale beach. Would recommend for families wanting a nice base for a quiet holiday in the Algarve.
