“Sad Hotel”
Canceling of ferry service into Yarmouth has been very bad for business for the hotel and the town. Would not include Yarmouth as a stopping point. Closet door of it's track, broken mattress, worn appearance of public areas, inadequate parking. Planned to stay two nights originally. Changed to one night.
“Seen Better Days”
I at least hope that the hotel has seen better days. I find it difficult to understand the assessment of its three star rating. The hotel looks and feels at little depressed, as though the late 70s was the last refitting. The room is at best adequate, with a charming and quaint CRT television, sad Mr. Coffee contraption, and a bathroom that's a tad dodgy. I could've seen past these imperfections, but the management needs to work on its employee protocol. I'm sure that you've experienced something similar.... Guest is returning after first morning to hotel room, housekeeping in hallway confirms that guest is staying the one night, guest corrects her with the proper length of a two night stay, guest enters room, and receives a call from the front desk impulsively demanding more money should the guest wish to stay beyond the recorded one night stay. The flustered guest (not the manager) apologizes for the "potential misunderstanding," rechecks Expedia eMail, calls Expedia directly, confirms two night stay, and receives another confirmation code. Armed with the truth, the guest receives another call from the front desk. The two night stay is confirmed. Begrudging apology. Please, verify housekeeping's tactical collection of intelligence before asking guests to prove that they're not bilking the establishment of money.
