"For a somewhat modestly priced hotel, this one is a winner. Modern, stylish, immaculate. My room was in perfect shape in all regards, and filled with thoughtful touches in the bathroom. A nice breakfast is included, and that only adds to the ease of things. They even have parking spaces with roofing overhead. Altogether, a most delightful hotel that I heartily recommend."

"I had a terrible stay. I booked the room so I could rest for the night before having to drive the 2+ hour trip home. The people at the desk for check in were very nice. I went to the elevator to go to my room and was greeted with a terrible sewer order. Once in my room I noticed the bathroom was not clean. Hair in the tub and feces splash under the toilet rim was not clean. I ordered room service which came quickly and was good. I wanted to go to bed early and had lights out at 9 pm. The hotel was filled with boy’s probably age 10-13. I assumed it was some school trip or sports tournament. The kids were running up and down the hallways screaming. I figured they would be spoken to by parents or hotel staff. I understood how these things happen but when it was still going on at 11pm I tried to call the front desk multiple times with no answer. I called multiple times before 1am. I could not sleep and eventually got up to leave at 4am. When I checked out I asked for someone to walk to my car since it was still dark. The gentleman who worked security was nice enough to walk me. He told me he was the only security person on that night and he had so many calls for noise, drinking and yelling the was not able to get to them all. I spent $300 to shower, eat a bowl of soup and to drive home with zero sleep because the hotel and the parents of these kids had no concern or control over theses kids. I want my money back."

"very old building and smell old mildew inside room also not full breakfast serving no staffs around to clean breakfast areas. not great to stay longer than others, price is okay and bed in the room is too soft and discomfort sleeping well."
The Charles Hotel

"Room was nice. A bit spartan, with no couch in my suite. Just lots of chairs. Like 7 of them. Shower is exceptional. The room grew on me over my three night stay. Came to like it. Pillows are way too soft. All of them. No variety. The gym at this hotel is fantastic. Big, with lots of equipment. Jogging paths nearby on the Charles River is a big plus, as is prime location in Harvard Square. Common areas are exceptional as well, which serves to highlight the stiff quakerish quality of the decor in the rooms. Staff is attentive. But a bit removed and ensconced behind counters, it seemed."
