We arrived at 2:30 pm and it was raining heavily; so we waited in our vehicle until the rain let up which it did at 2:50 so we quickly headed to the entrance. When we were let in the man who said he was the owner repeatedly told us we were early as check in is at 3:00pm; then he in formed us that our car a Honda CRV was parked crooked. Not very welcoming!

Kurt. Sorry you felt you were not welcome. We are a small Inn. We try to explain on confirmation emails before your arrival as well as a text the morning of your arrival that we cannot check anyone in until after 3pm. Housekeeping and errands are done between 11am (check out) and 3pm (check in). It is a very small window to get everything done. When someone attempts to check in early, it does nothing but put us more behind. I know 10 minutes is nothing to you but it actually may allow us to run to the bathroom before you check in. :) We ask you to pull your car straight into a spot as we have 9 parking spots and 9 rooms so if you park crooked another guest will not have a spot. We ask you this so all of our guests can enjoy their stay. Sorry you found that uncomfortable. We wish you the best.

We LOVED everything about this property! You could tell the hosts put much time & effort into the planning of the entire bed & breakfast experience. Plus, all of the historical pictures, memorabilia, books, etc. just put our entire stay over the top!

I absolutely loved my stay in the "Reagan Room" - King Bed with pictures of Nancy & Ronald Reagan throughout. This room is located in the "West Wing" along with the Kennedy Room - This is a newer part of the property - Built about 2010 if my memory serves. The other rooms are located in the original section of the house, which was built in 1904. The host, John and his wife Debbie, were amazing. Super professional and Debbie makes a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The 1st floor of the main house (library, parlor) are filled with Presidential pictures, souvenirs, etc. Very cool place - Loved the theme. Location is great - Just a few blocks away from Merchan Square with all of the shopping & dining you could possibly ask for. Hats Off to John and Debbie. If I ever find myself in Williamsburg again, this will be my "go to" option!

Yes, the Reagan Bedchamber is new...Actually the original Inn is from 1904 but we added the Reagan on during Covid in 2021 so its only a few years old. The main home is beautiful ane what one would expect in Williamsburg, Virginia. Our ceiling room was perfect. Loved all the color choices and couldn't stop looking at the beautiful ceiling.

This was a beautiful property with wonderful breakfasts and close to Williamsburg and Jamestowne. However, the male owner, when we first arrived rather tired from the drive, monologued us to death for nearly 30 minutes with irrelevant stories. We were finally shown to our beautiful room. He also interrupted the breakfast conversation among the guests. He needs to dial it down upon arrival, and let the guests enjoy their experience

Great location. Great atmosphere
Spent the weekend in Williamsburg and this place was an amazing jump off point. John the owner is very attentive and the overall atmosphere of the place was amazing. Will be recommending this place to anyone who is staying in Williamsburg regardless of the trip.

We loved the hospitality of the hosts . We lived the beautiful house. We loved the theme of the whole place ! We loved everything about this place. It is a short walk to the old historic colonial town which has its quaint shops and restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful in giving us suggestions for dinner, etc… we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to our gracious hosts!

The location and Inn were nice but the proprietor was rude and abrasive. When showing us the common area where wine is provided in the afternoon he said,” if you spill the wine on the white furniture, we will charge you! We’ve done it before!” He also said,” breakfast is at 9. If you’re late, too bad. It will be cold. “There were other instances that left me feeling very sorry we had chosen this place. Not a good experience.

Susan,We are sorry you did not enjoy your one night stay. Sometimes people take John's sense of humor seriously and add some words that he didn't actually say such as in the above. Unfortunately, your short stay didn't allow for you to see the real him but rather assumed he was actually serious.

Great Place to Stay
The host and hostess were friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home in their lovely guest house which was located in a very nice area next to William and Mary College and Colonial Williamsburg. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and there was a happy hour with snacks. The overall experience was great.

Charming inn, historic location
Great B&B with historic charm. Wonderful location convenient to historic area, shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend the White House Inn.

We stayed in the Kennedy room which appears to be in a newer part of the property. The room was decorated to perfection. It was clean, had a ceiling fan, and we were able to control our own temperature. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the hosts were a delight. I highly recommend this property!

The home is attractive and comfortable and the breakfast is very good. However, the owner was less than cordial: when informed there was no hot water in one room, he simply said that there was - totally unconcerned and made no effort at all to resolve or even consider the problem; he immediately announced to everyone (6 professionals with a great deal of travel experience) that if they spilled anything on the white couch in the parlor, they would pay for it; fine to have political memorabilia except that a number of the partisan political displays throughout are in very bad taste. As lovely and convenient as this home was, we would never recommend this lodging.

John, Sorry to hear we just weren't a good fit for you. In this year after covid, humor is sometimes overlooked as John ( the owner) jokes quite frequently and you obviously did not pick up on that. We usually have an abundance of hot water, political humor is all around the Inn ( both sides) and most of our guests enjoy all of it. We have learned over the 22 years here, no matter how hard we try sometimes, we cannot please everyone...We try our best, everyday. All the best.

In a room for two people there was only one chair. There were no luggage racks and we are too old to find it convenient to have our suitcases on the floor. The footpaths between the parking area and the house and the bedroom are very narrow and uneven, difficult for elderly people.

Michael, Some of our rooms have 2 chairs, one even has a loveseat. If 2 chairs were essential for you, I am sure we could have offered a different room when you booked. The footpaths through the garden are usually more than adequate for any person to navigate, as it actually turns into a concrete walk way. I am sorry you had issues, but once again, we can only help resolve issues while you are staying with us. You didn't mention anything during your stay, but instead felt it necessary to voice it here. Truly wish you had brought it to our attention during your stay. Wishing you the best,

This is a Beautiful place to stay in Williamsburg! We stayed here for our wedding night, and the owners were super easy to work with and amenable to our late arrival. We used to live in Williamsburg, and I would highly recommend staying here!

The couple who owns the property are wonderful! They made us feel welcome and wanted to be sure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were very delicious and each day was unique. Great place! :)
