Unfortunately this resort is nothing close to what is advertised on Expedia. Our Taxi driver was even shocked upon dropping us there as he was certain the place was closed due to bankruptcy. We had no WiFi, no cable, no restaurant and no bar. The place is completely outdated, I was afraid to sit on the furniture. The reception however did their best to accommodate us. It’s unfortunate that the hotel was not maintained properly as it would have great potential.

Great location, dive shop and good value!
Nice location right on the beach which is hard to find in Otrabanda. Fantastic dive shop, Goby Divers, right on site. This resort has all the ingredients that should make it a top destination. Unfortunately, when we were there, a local labor strike was in effect limiting availability of breakfast, pool bar services and apparently, the onsite casino. This resort was good the way it was and the price was a good value.

However my stay was for one night, there was no soap in bathroom. 2 extra pillows and soup was requested to the front desk, and found in room only one small pillow and two small soaps. When we got to the room the key did not open the door, and we had to go back to the front desk. The security escorted us again to the room and noticed that the the door system was not functioning well, and told us he would report it.

I stayed for two days at Holiday Beach Resort, rooms are comfortable and clean. I was alone and originally had a 1st floor ground suite which I was a little scared to be in, and they were nice to change my room to the 3rd floor for me. Unfortunately, the beach isn't the greatest.. the white sand is very rocky - you have to wear sandals up until you're closer to the water because it is so hard to walk on - and the water also gets deep very fast. I can see why not much people have gone in the water. I ended up taking a day trip to Mambo Beach to get some great beach time. Overall, for a two day stay, I would recommend the hotel but only if you aren't planning on staying on resort grounds. There wasn't anything open on the resort (bars, snacks, car rental place & excursion office were all closed during my two day stay). The only great bonus for food is having the 24 hour Denny's restaurant that is attached to the resort on the outside. Otherwise, comfy rooms and friendly hotel staff for a quick place to stay.

If I could give this hotel a 0 I would. The pictures online look nothing like the actual hotel. Do yourself a favor and avoid staying here. When you arrive you are not greeted at the lobby. The air conditioner was not working, it was very hot and humid. They provided us with a small fan and there was 3 of us in the room. The hallways smelled moldy. Another guest told me they were without electricity and A.C. for a few days. Within 10 minutes of checking in, I immediately checked out and went to make a reservation at the Hilton. Everyone on the island knows this is a bad hotel and said it’s poorly maintained, the owner doesn’t pay he’s fees. If you want to enjoy a nice vacation stay somewhere else.

Think twice
Very run down, smell of mild got my throat hurt every morning. Only one restaurant a Denny’s next door, no other restaurants and no bar. No alcool serve anywhere’s on the property, not even at the pool. No Free area shuttle like mentioned in the description. Poor service, no hairdryer. I finally got a nice room with a view after debating for hours.

This hotel is in need of an URGENT renovation! The a/c works poorly; the furniture in the room is old; the lobby smells like old; the Casino smells even worse....nice area however, but need to close it down and do a complete make-over.

Only pro was the natural private beach.
The room was outdated. Had a horrible smell. It felt unsafe as there were no security camera's on the floors or elevator. It was just horrible and to add to it the customer service was horrendous.

The hotel is old and very dated. The furniture and decorations look like they're from the 80s. They don't have flat screen TVs in the rooms which was shocking. No satellite TV. The plumbing in the second room was leaking. The hallways to the rooms smell musty/moldy. The breakfast was a limited buffet and you could only go once to take food!! Hotel buffets should be all you can eat. The hotel is having financial problems and has not paid its utility bill in months, so the electricity was cut on my 2nd day there for more than 24 hours. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

2 days power outage with no ac or lights to walk around the hotel or do activities. No cable the entire time and no on sight activities. We mostly stayed away if we could. 99% of staff really do not give a fart about you or conditions at the hotel even the manager for all the properties in the Caribbean. The best thing about this place is the beach and pool, but you don't need to stay here to enjoy it , just get a day pass and bring lots of mesquito repellant for early morning and nights.

Worst hotel ever
Outdated. The hotel smells like an old hospital. No airco in the hall. Please take my advice and never go to that hotel. There are cheaper hotels in Curacao, that are way more better than this one.

This hotel needs renovations and updating. Musty smell, broken doors & windows, hot water issues, room furnishings need updating. Staff was mostly very pleasant & helpful but we did have one bad experience with a disinterested, unpleasant, reluctant staff member who didn't seem to want to help much when we had a somewhat urgent matter.

Good value, despite the frayed edges
This place gets a worse rep than it deserves. The infrastructure is a bit dated, and there are musty smells here & there, but there are plenty of staff keeping the place as clean as they can given the circumstances, and they're working on improving things. The pool is great, the beach is decent, and breakfast has lots of choices. Avoid the "garden view" rooms--the "garden" is more like an abandoned overgrown lot surrounded by ominous barbed wire fencing. Pool view is nice. This place gets a solid 70-75%, yet prices seem to be half or a quarter of what you'll pay at other resorts, so it's good value (at the moment).

I am getting the impression that many hotels assign not very good rooms for Hotels.com customers, this is what happened in this hotel, the room was not very good, there were many details needed to be repair (long list). Talking with another customer, same problems but finally was assigned a very good room. It looks that the property has two categories.

Its looks like that the managements don't care anymore to renovate the building. They just run with it till the Ends. But You Get what you pay for. If you thinks that the price is nice because its Incl. a pool area. Pool water, room, building is Dirty!

Dated dysfunctioning room with broken lamp, fridge, and telephone. Ordered a wake up call and was scolded for not answering the call after staff had to come knock on the door. Hard to answer a phone that does not ring. They did not attempt to call my cellphone. Furthermore, after some inspection, I found NO FUNCTIONING SMOKE DETECTORS in the hotel. I inquired about this as well after bringing two smokedetectors to the front desk from off the hotel walls. NEITHER CONTAINED A BATTERY. I doubt this hotel has an upgraded fire-emergency system but could not verify this. Service was typical for the region.

They gave my room to someone else; even though, I paid a head through Expedia for that type of room. Room, hallways, and entrance had a horrible smell. The room was always damp. Itched something terrible in the bed! Don’t even want to think of what could have been in there with me!

When booked with Expedia it’s cheap. Stayed often here. Still old but useful. Good for passing through or cheap for long stay. Close to the city. Beach and pool. There’s even a gym. There’s even a Casino. Depends on the room reservation you can pay for continental breakfast. There is a Denny’s close by 24/7. For cheap room with double beds a must visit.

Well hotels.com needs to update the amenities for this location. Wifi was sketchy at best, the first room they put me In was scary and certainly not the garden/ pool view I paid for. More like a delapidated deck with a lovely view of garbage bins and maybe an old parking lot?!.i was told I would be moved, only to waste half of my day waiting and then they did NOT have a room ready until the next afternoon. The walk to the’ b’area, I can say is only equivalent to some kind of horror movie... I thought Norman bates would be thrashing open my shower curtain at any given moment. Besides soap, there were zero toiletries of any kind and the ‘cooked to order breakfast’ - don’t waste your money. It’s a buffet with dismal selection. Also,the shuttle that is advertised is not available, and neither of my safes worked. The only saving grace for this hotel was the amazing front desk staff; They were constantly dealing With complaints and still keeping a smile on their faces! Incredible.oh and I must say the pool was nice and well kept. The beach unfortunately, although there was great seating in shaded areas, is diminished by the 2 ship cruise port. They are currently expanding so your otherwise beautiful view is now of big construction vessels and constant noise .The Denny’s next door is WAY overpriced but I must say I had fabulous and friendly service .

Disappointing
Room description was inaccurate. Furniture in room had not been cleaned. Hotel staff was greatly undermanned and some staff were not savvy on customer service. Hotel Wi-Fi never worked during the entire stay. Would not recommend hotel any time soon.
