The bedrooms although needing a little upgrade makeover externally the bedrooms were immaculate & clean. Extremely comfortable bed with quality linen. The staff were outstanding and went beyond the call to make us welcome and comfortable

The Staff were all very friendly hotel rooms were big and spacious could easy spend a week there breakfast was great all freshly done just 1 little problem water pressure on top floors but would happy to stay again great value for money. Thanks Steff Bond Room 6

Room was a nice size with sea view .windows wouldnt close so with the storm the room was cold with curtains blowing all day / night .had to stand near taps to have a shower .no lift so struggled with stairs to the top of the building due to heart problems .staff were nice and nice food in the pub

Little gem of a place!
Excellent stay and value for money. Only one minor issue for me and that was the pull cord in the bathroom.....it had no end on it and was very grubby from use....I didn't want to touch it. Large comfortable rooms.

2 springs like needles were sticking out of the side of the mattress my side of the bed. When I got out of the bed on my second and final day I nearly impaled my leg. O peeling back the mattress cover to see what was happening we were dismayed to see the state of the badly stained mattress. Other than that we had a nice 2 days at the hotel. Nice warm comfortable room. Spoke to someone at hotel about dangerous springs he assured me it would be sorted.

Really great place to stay - lovely big family room with very comfy beds. Excellent location with free parking - make sure you park in the allocated spaces though! Warm and friendly manager who was really welcoming. Can't fault!

No free parking but room was fine
A few issues but nice room and staff were good. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the TV didn’t work. The disappointing thing was no free parking as other people took the spaces that were supposed to be for residents so had to pay £12 parking :(

Hotel confirmed a double room for 4 nights, however when I retired on the first night I found I had been given two single beds pushed together to look like a double. Very difficult to sleep as I kept rolling onto the joint. Spoke to a member of staff the next day bit hotel was full. Stayed one more sleepless night the decided to leave.

Staff were amazing. We had an evening meal and breakfast and it was absolutely yummy! So nice! Would definitely recommend eating here. Room was huge. Very quiet at night. Would stay here again.

This used to be a really nice clean midern hotel. Now very tired, needs maintenance badly. Shoddy ecmxteriir and shoddy rooms. Will not use again.

On arrival we had to wait till exactly 1400 to check in as the would not allow us to check in when we arrived at 1345 and even then there was no-one, we had to wait. The room was big and spacious and we had a side view of the seafront but only supplied 2 teas and 2 coffee sachets even though there was 3 of us in the room and 2 cups and 2 glasses. There was no hairdryer in the room or any soaps or toiletries supplied. There was an empty bottle of Dove shower gel by the bath. The toilet seat was cracked and the bathroom floor was dirty and full of dust behind the sink and black stains on the bath. Also the hot tap was lose and moved when you turned it on. On a positive, the beds were comfortable, however the people staying above us were extremely noisy as everytime they walked around, we could hear the floor creaking. Especially annoying at 1am in the morning! We could also hear music (I assume from the bar below) till 1030pm! There is little sound proofing therefore very noisy.

Not worth a stay
Found the room dirty/ grimy. Electric heater hanging off the wall. The whole hotel was dated. Had to pay extra for breakfast which certainly not worth the money. Will never go back to this hotel.

Warm welcome. Good location, was a bit noisy. Went down for breakfast which we had been told was 7-9am but no one was there so that was a bit disappointing.

Our stay at the Old Colonial Hotel.
We had a four night stay at the Old Colonial Hotel Weston-super-Mare, the room was big with plenty of storage, and a large comfortable bed, good choice of food, free car parking a plus, one complaint is the condition of the front of Hotel which is run down and urgent need of repair, which could put guests of.

Ghastly experience. Room to hot. No air con and unable to open window by more than a fraction. Hotel provided a small cheap fan that was useless. Would not recommend - I now know what it’s like to be an Alsatian dog trapped in a car on a hot day with no windows open !
