We have just spent 2 nights at Roseroc. We had a lovely room with balcony over looking gardens and super views of the lagoon. Kevin was a great host and most helpful in restaurant and things to do recommendations. The breakfast was very good. The ‘Roseroc poached eggs were divine’. The was a glass of port and little shortbread biscuit waiting for us on return from our dinner, a lovely end to the evenings. The guest house is walkable to the waterfront but we got Ubers back with no problem. We would return again if back in SA.

It was a very quiet period and we had good service from the management however we had a long period without any water whatsoever and had to ask for bottled water. It’s a very conveniently positioned property within easy reach of all amenities. Breakfast was very good, perhaps a fridge in the room could help

We provided all our guests with 15L of water and welcomed any one to ssk for more should the outages extend longer than antcipated. Kevin is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and clean with amazing views throughout. Good sized pool and sunbathing area. Walkable to waterfront or only a few minutes short drive/taxi. We would definitely stay again

We loved our stay at Roseroc. Everything was perfect and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. It was clean and private. We had a beautiful view of the water from our balcony. Breakfast was incredible, probably the best breakfast we have ever had at a B&B or hotel. Kevin was so helpful and kind. Thank you for the perfect stay in Knysna!

Roseroc Knysna.
Firstly, we are not people who whinge over nothing or tiny problems. We had been recommended this place by a family member who had stayed 3 years earlier. We booked a Deluxe Queen room. There was NOTHING deluxe about it. We asked to move but the other rooms were taken. This property is in a state of disrepair and needs money spending on it. The website is VERY misleading. The pool was unusable, dirty and full of leaves, gardens overgrown and unkempt. Sun beds covered in leaves and dirty. Our room was damp, had to ask after 3 days for the towels to be changed and for more toilet roll. The bathroom was awful - blackened grouting in the shower, peeling silicone behind sink, old bathroom fittings. Doors didn’t fit properly and had to be banged shut.The host is charming and very knowledgeable and gives great recommendations. Breakfasts are good. No one at property to meet us when we arrived and we were left in the dark in the property on our first night with only the torches on our phones when the power went off until the owner arrived with a lantern. Overall, our stay here was not pleasant, we wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone which is a pity as it has great potential.

Kevin is a fantastic host. We had a wonderful stay in Knysna largely due to his amazing recommendations and delicious breakfasts. The honeymoon suite was perfect for our stay with spectacular views. Highly recommend. We cannot wait to visit again!

A bit of paradise in Paradise.
This is a very comfortable guesthouse with an exceptional host. Kevin could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Thoroughly recommend the Eggs Rosewroc! View from our terrace was beautiful. This is the place to stay in Knysna.

The position was excellent, our host superb - he could not have done more to help us. We even came out in the morning to a washed car! Breakfasts were Delicious. Our best stay so far in South Africa.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Roseroc Guest House for a few nights during our recent honeymoon to South Africa. The property is absolutely stunning both inside and out and has the most incredible view over the Knysna lagoon. As others have commented, Kevin (the owner) is an amazing host, providing us with excellent tips for things to do and places to eat. Each morning he put on an excellent breakfast that was presented with great panache and each evening, a wonderful turn-down service. Kevin can take you out for a private sunset tour of the lagoon on his boat, we did this and absolutely loved it, it was a highlight of our trip - so we thoroughly recommend you book this with him. Knysa has lots of restaurants a short walk away and there are plenty of taxis available to go back. Our only regret was that we did not stay in Knysna and at the Roseroc for longer. This hotel is AMAZING. We received the very best service from Kevin and Cornell. They were friendly, knowledgeable, funny and incredibly helpful. Their hotel is beautiful as is the local area. The breakfast is also awesome. You must stay here!!

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Excellent view and very nice decor overall. Breakfast was the best of our 26 day trip. The room would benefit from a small fridge and double glazing as the road below was quite busy with trucks early in one of the mornings. Other than that it was great and we'd definitely recommend.

Home from Home in Knysna
This is a pleasant upmarket venue set in lush garden surroundings with lovely views of the Knysna Lagoon. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding and our car had been washed! We felt relaxed and pampered.

Excellent experience. Very affable hosts who were very accommodating to our needs. Even had turn-down service with glass of port and small cookie at bedtime. Told us where to eat, and made a delicious breakfast. The decor was stunning and we enjoyed sundowners with other guests and our hosts on their scenic patio. Best place to stay in Knysna

i'd recommend the rooms upstairs vs. the garden room, it was a little musty and didn't afford the view the others did. but the house is beautiful and has a great view of Knysna. I wished that we were able to spend more time there as the living room and patio and gardens were lovely. also it is a little off the beat and path but was still close to happenings in town.

Memorable stay
We had booked the honeymoon suite and found it a very comfortable and spacious room with an excellent view. The room is very clean and neat with a comfortable bed and good linen. We were there during a couple of colder days and found the room a bit cold as it only had a single wall heater, but the beds did have some heated blankets which provided the warmth we were seeking. The host, Vee, really makes you feel welcome and will go the extra mile to help you out with whatever you need. We definitely felt relaxed and well taken care off throughout our stay.

Quiet location, good position
Lovely house set in quiet surroundings, easy access by car from the main road through the town but little traffic noise. Only a short 10 min walk to Knysna Quays and the lagoon. Excellent breakfast, overall a very enjoyable stay.

Fantastic stay
We were made to feel at home by Vee as soon as we arrived and she was full of great tips and advice for things to do in the area. The room had a great view across the lagoon and was very comfortable and spacious. There were good options available for breakfast (especially the freshly baked muffins we woke up to the smell of cooking each morning!) We based ourselves here for 4 nights whilst exploring the area and couldn't have asked for more. It is a little far out of town and a car or taxi is required when going for dinner but most accommodation seems to be out here and the views more than made up for this.

We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed the lovely garden room.....quite spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicous and filling, served in a lovely dining area with fantastic views. Our hostess was very helpful....discussing and describing local activities, restaurants, and making reservations for us. It's only a short drive to the harbor with many excellent restaurants and shopping. The only thing is that traffic can be heard as it is fairly close to the highway. Still a great place to stay.

Nice host, good view, and also liked the pool area. Breakfast was good, and can recommend the chicken sausages. Wireless internet was mostly good depending how many guests were on, and no surcharge. Could walk into town but we used our car, this property is towards the edges of Knysna. Nice view of the lagoon and heads in the distance, from the balconies. Honor bar with soft drinks and alcohol available 24hrs. No DStV (there is DStV in the main house, but whatever channel it is set to, is what all the rooms get). Stayed in room 6 separate to the main house, which includes a little kitchen area. Overall very nice place. Only down side would be the noise of traffic from the main road below, much quieter with all the windows and doors shut though.
