Weekend stay

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Stairs sound hollow, so everyone coming up or down could be heard in our room, 237, right by the stairs. Since the hotel was busy it was a bit loud.
Location: Centrally located and close to everything you want to do.
The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Upon arrival to our room, the toilet didn't work. I called down to the desk and she immediately gave us a new room and sent a staff member up with new keys. That was very accommodating. This room had a micro and fridge which was nice as we had brought snacks that needed refrigeration.

close to skiing, good breakfast, pool

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: Clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Close to slopes.
Location: Close to Starbucks, restaurants and most importantly, Granite Peak
We stay here every year when we ski at Granite Peak. It's a 5 minute drive to slopes. Great free breakfast. There's a pool and hot tub. Clean rooms. And the price is fantastic.

Somewhere to sleep - well almost!

Posted 05-Jan-2015
Pros: Basic clean room and reasonable for the price.
Cons: Beds could be a little softer. More effective control over room temperature.
Location: Was traveling for a volleyball tournament so did not visit anything else.
The hotel seemed nice, but the beds were dreadful - hard and uncomfortable. The temperature of the room was too hot, despite changing the thermostat constantly. The worst thing was the noise - drunk guests coming back to their room throughout the night. In the morning, at breakfast, there was a staff member who spent the entire coughing - not her fault but off-putting!

Not what I had hoped.

Posted 03-Jan-2015
Pros: Very friendly and helpful front desk staff.
Cons: Room needed repair, and more consistent cleaning.
On the plus side, the front desk staff was great. The lobby was clean and looked nice. Initial impressions were good. But our room had water damage on the bathroom ceiling. It was cleaned and serviced erratically, somethings done well, some not. And, perhaps unique to our room, it was located near an entrance door and the ice machine, so we heard slamming doors, and ice filling buckets until early morning.

Comfortable, simple room on 2nd floor, no elevator. Water in bathtub and toilet had a green hue, so cancelled plan to take a bath. Good breakfast included.

Disappointed with cleanliness

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Pros: Staff, wipeable furniture, free breakfast.
Cons: Keep Hall Carpets Vacuumed and Clean. Makes a very bad 1st impression. Clean the pool. Regrout in bathrooms.
Location: Good location, handy to hospital.
Staff was friendly, made me feel welcome, especially Rosia in breakfast room. Front desk checked us in and out quickly and were pleasant. Breakfast was free and was your standard continental plus waffle fare. What was nice was food was fresh and restocked by Rosia. She was happy to help. What a disappointment when I walked down the hall and saw that it needed to be vacuumed. Our bathroom could definitely have been cleaner. The pool needed to be cleaned. I did like that the chairs were attractive looking, looked like cloth but were easily wipeable. So often hotel rooms have upholstered furniture in there room that are badly stained. This really could be a nice hotel if housekeeping issues were addressed.

Good place to stay while in the area

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Personal touches from the staff that made our stay a positive experience.
Location: Rib mountain parks and outdoor fall scenery was wonderful.
Staff was friendly and helpful, Renee was great at check-in and Rosie made out day at breakfast. Everyone answer our questions and help make the stay a positive experience. We were closed to activities and events in the Wausau area. Staff helped with food locations and daily weather forecast for the area.
