“Unpleasantly surprised!”
Substantial construction is currently going on at the hotel. Stay away from this hotel if you are celebrating a special occasion. It is on the level of a motel 6.
“Under Construction”
This hotel is under construction. The entrance is very narrow and rooms are not in great condition, especially the carpeting in the rooms. Expedia should clearly list that a hotel is under construction BEFORE a reservation is made. This is not the first time that Expedia has failed to list that a hotel was under construction.
“Pity about the building works”
We have stayed here before and were disappointed to find that major renovations were taking place which we had not been informed about. I am sure all will be well when they are finished which I believe to be in January 2012. Besides that all was well.
“pleasingly palatial”
This hotel is suites - livingroom, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. I didn't use it to its full advantage but it was a treat to have so much room. The neighbourhood is pleasant, it's near a metro stop, and it's within walking distance of the Lincoln Memorial and area (and the business that took me). I had a fine time and recommend it! It's under renovation but I didn't experience any discomfort. The price was great, too.
“Totally disappointed”
Would not recommended this hotel. It seems like a old apartment building being turned into a suite. At best this is a 0.5-star hotel with nothing but a bed to sleep in. Air conditioner can only work as heater or cooler and it takes a while to work, not to mention the noise. Without a courtesy of asking permission (our door was open), the maid actually walked into our room while my son was watching TV and my wife and I were changing in the bedroom. Call the front desk to request for a TV remote replacement but never showed up. The front desk area is small and the continental breakfast is being served at the same area. Not much selection for breakfast. I almost thought that was the storage room when I walked into the hotel for checking in. The facility is being renovated but never mentioned in the website. The only positive thing is the room is big and with a full kitchen.
“Great Hotel”
They are renovating, so the lobby and entrances are a bit inconviently laid out. Also, I ordered a smoking room and wasn't told of any problem with this. However, the hotel is entirely non-smoking. Wish we had known about this! They do allow pets. We had two dogs with us. The staff is friendl and helpful.
“Fantastic choice”
Fantastic location. One of the best choice I've ever done
“Had a comfortable time”
It was nicer than I expected. Service were very friendly.
“Under maintanence construction - but great stay”
Yes, they are renovating this hotel for an early 2012 re-opening that will include more amenities such as a work out room and lobby bar. Because of this, the entrance way is like entering a construction zone, however the guest rooms are still outstanding. These rooms are very comfortable and large, allowing you to stretch out and relax and the full kitchen comes in very handy. Trader Joes is across the street and Safeway and Whole Foods are within easy walking distance. The location is close to many restaurants and Metro. I have stayed here many times and will continue to stay at this hotel in the future.
“Avoid at all costs”
Hotel is undergoing renovation: lobby and fitness center are closed; there's no security or staff watching people enter from the street to the elevators; heat and A/C were turned off due to change in season; I was told to open my windows but they were ancient and stuck: I had to call maintenance. None of the known planned renovation work was communicated in the Expedia property description. Paid a 3-star hotel rate for a 1-star experience. I was completely ripped off.
