Room Amenities
Dining
Notti Bianche - The “progressive American” fare served in this small, intimate place gets high marks from local critics, quite a feat in a city filled with excellent restaurants. Menu highlights include Pheasant with Morels, Veal Cheeks with Butternut Squash Puree, and, for dessert, Bread & Butter Pudding with a Warm Chocolate Milkshake. Beyond the partially open kitchen is the lounge, warmly tinted a peachy pink by the egg-shaped lamps suspended from the ceiling.

“A Welcome Surprise!”
After traveling for three consecutive weeks, I was very surprised at the hotel that Expedia recommended. It was clean and the staff was very helpful. I will definitely stay there again!
“Can't wait to go back”
Very comfortable, great area, will definitely stay again.
“Recommended”
The George Washington University Inn is an older hotel, but very comfortable and importantly in a great location on GWU campus. Just minutes from the metro, surrounded by good bars and eateries, all the attractions of Washington are easily accessible. If you fly into Ronald Reagan, hop on the metro, and in minutes you will be at GWU Foggy Bottom station and can walk a minute or so down to the hotel. Definitely stay there again.
“Nice Place Great Value”
I was able to get a great rate (for DC) on this not fancy but very nice hotel. Staff very helpful, and it is in a great location, near to DuPont Circle and GWU. Room spare but spacious and clean. I would definitely go back again if the rate was not too high.
“Great Location”
GWUI is right next to the Metro, and within walking distance of all of tourist sights in D.C. It is charmingly old. The breakfast was too expensive: $15, but all in all it is worth the price.
“Will Return”
I was very satisfied with my stay at the GW University Inn. Even though I arrived eariler in the day the front desk found a room and let me check in. No additional charge for internet, either wired or wireless. Room was quiet, even though located close to the GW Hospital. The location was excellent for me, close to those who I was visiting, and mid-way between DC and Georgetown shopping districts, plus a half block from the Metro. Breakfast ($15, tip incl.) was not included in my rate, but worth the cost.
“Excellent Location, very clean Room”
Very Clean Room and Excellent location - within walking distance to Metro station, nice restaurants nearby, 15 min walk to White House.
“Great neighborhood hotel”
This is a wonderful neighborhood hotel in a great location. It is nestled among beautiful 19th century row houses next to George Washington University. It is just blocks away from Georgetown, the Mall and the Lincoln Monument, the Vietnam and the World War II Memorials. The hotel has valet parking and a garage, a small but very efficient lobby, the rooms and baths are extremely clean and comfortable. My room had a wonderful view of the neighborhood and surrounding cityscape. The staff was friendly and non-intrusive; I could come and go without any hassle. The atmosphere was very low key and comfortable. This would be my visit choice when I return for another visit. It was very easy to get a cab in front of the hotel, and a Metro subway entrance was just one block away, making traveling throughout the metropolitan area very fast and economical. .
“Quaint with good location”
The hotel was beautiful and very near the Metro in a safe neighborhood. The only problem was that the air conditioning had already been turned off for the season and the days we were there it was 75 degrees and up; making the room humid and uncomfortable. The hotel staff however were very helpful..hailing taxis, recommending restaurants, parking the car, etc.
“Great option for visiting GWU”
The staff at GWU Inn were excellent and very helpful. Unfortunately, the room we were given was right above the hotel drive and entrance and was extremely noisy. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They have old plumbing and the hot water in the shower was inconsistent and prone to cold/hot flashes. The breakfast buffet (only breakfast option at the hotel) was mediocre and expensive for what was available. We headed to the nearby Starbucks the next morning. The location of this hotel was the biggest plus. Close to Metro, walking distance to Georgetown and the Lincoln Memorial and 3 blocks from the George Washington University Admissions/Visitor Center. Also, a short drive or Metro from Ronald Reagan DC National Airport.
