“Unpleasant operation”
Unpleasant staff and guests, poor service and unexplained extra charges were added to my credit card. Not recommended.
“I'm planning my next trip....”
We loved this place. When we arrived at 3:45PM on Friday there were quite a few people checking in. I thought "Oh no, we're going to be here for a while." We were settled in our room ten minutes later! Very quick check-in, extremely helpful, courteous staff. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. Nice big fluffy white down comforter on the very comfortable bed. I liked the toiletries from Bath & Body works, nice touch. Also enjoyed the robes provided. Nice size fridge in the room, no microwave though. We recevied a coupon at check-in for a 2 for 1 lunch deal at our choice of about 5 area restaurants. The Guards was the only one that honored it on Saturday and the food there was spectacular. We were so impressed with the food we forgot to use the coupon. I am already planning our next trip and we will be staying 2 nights instead of one the next time. Thank you Georgetown Suites, you provided 2 overworked, stressed out parents a very comfortable get away. We can't wait to come back.
“Great location”
Georgetown suites is ideally situated in Georgetown, the best area to stay in Washington DC. Relative to other hotels in the area, it is well priced plus includes continental breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel itself is rather old and could do with some renovations and newer furniture. Importantly, however, the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean.
“Very much satisfied”
Location was a block away from where I had meetings. Rate was less than the "government/GSA" rate that I was looking for. Room was very spacious with full-fledge kitchen and dining table. Wireless connection was a little slow but adequate enough to check emails and do some remote work. Breakfast in the morning served me well. The only issue with the hotel is that it is an aging structure and that shows in the heating-cooling system as well as in the bathrooms. But overall, I was very much satisfied with my stay.
“Georgetown Suites - Great locations”
Other than Expedia booking us in the 'wrong' Georgetown Suites, we loved this place. Great location, easy access to Georgetown, nice large suite - not real fancy, but, nice & clean. The continental breakfast was better than what you would usually find, having a good selection of juices (tomato, orange, etc), bagels, pastries, banana's, apples, cereal, oatmeal, fruit salad, coffee, and more. They even had some breakfast sandwiches (sausage, egg, cheese on an english muffin) that you could microwave (we didn't try those).
“"One hotel, two separate locations"”
Due to a flight delay, I arrived at the Georgetown Suites in DC well after midnight, only to find that my room was booked at the hotel building on 29th Street, not 30th Street as per my booking details. As it turns out, this hotel consists of two entirely separate buildings, about a 7 min walk from each other. Had I not begged the receptionist to help me get to the other building (I am a middle-aged woman, travelling alone), it would have been extremely difficult, inconvenient (I had a suitcase and another bag) and scary for me walking down a dark street after midnight. The reception area is also far from the road with no car access so you have to carry bags down to street level for any transport. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious, self-contained units, equipped with kitchen, stove, fridge, dining room etc. Very good value for money, with free continental breakfast also. Generally clean, but there was a cockroach in my bedroom, which was on the ground floor. Staff on reception were extremely helpful and went out of their way to provide info, call a taxi etc.
“Nice for the Money”
My husband and I were looking forward to getting away to D.C. for over 2 years. We enjoyed the trip soooo much. The hotel was perfect and near restaurants and many stores. We found a Seafood Market and bought Crab Cakes and Shrimp which we cooked in our room w/salad. The hotel felt like home after a long day of walking and site seeing. The staff was efficient. Continental Breakfast each morning was nice to start the day. When we go back we will stay here again and probably get a 1 or two bedroom suite. The room we had was large for a studio and was nice also. Highly recommend this hotel. If you have a family this is the way to go. Blanche
“Very good at a fair price for DC”
Overall the hotel is very good. My room was a very spacious and clean studio, excellent for one or two people. The view was not satisfactory, but you can ask a higher floor (mine was the 2nd). Lobby is very small and so it is the breakfast room right next to it (food for breakfast is abundant and good, choice is poor although more than enough if you want to have a regular breakfast). Good service and good location in Georgetown (many places to hang out or have dinner at night). A good 25 minute walk from the White House.
“Nice hotel with reasonable price”
It is kind of a long walk from the subway, but it was still worth it, since the area of Georgetown is nice. The restaurant right near the hotel is awesome! The name was "Michel (something) (something)" sorry. What a decent great French cuisine! The personnel of the hotel was very friendly.
“Superb Stay at Georgetown Suites”
Stayed at Georgetown Suites for two nights for business. Excellent location, spacious room with seperate kitchen area and couch. Very friendly service from front desk and complementary tea/coffee in reception all day long as well as continental breakfast in the morning. My only complaint was the slow wireless connection - but had a great stay overall.
