Beautiful building, although we were disappointed to be in a room that was outside the main building in a kind of stable block, that didn't have the style of the main building. Owner and staff all very nice. Beautiful walk into the village and to the river. Dog friendly.

Just wonderful, everything done to exactly the right standards and values, and done simply. No corners cut for a superb price, and a breath of fresh air. I was upgraded without asking at no extra cost. The staff look happy, employed locally and are clearly treated well, the area is stunning, the meals are fantastic value and wholesome. Everything just qiuetly works around you. A rarety amongst hotels. The doors all have super soft close so no relentless door slamming. The guests are considerate and not noisey. The area is so quiet except for the fantastic sound of birdsong - if you want to know what it used to be like to live alongside nature and have it flourish - come here. You will be shocked at what we have lost in the vast majority elsewhere. If you want to know how fantastic real fresh milk used to taste - come here. To the hotel please don't change anything about what you are doing - if only more places were like you.

Very conveniently located for an overnight stay during our drive from Calais Eurotunnel to Toulouse. Most of all we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the excellent dining. The owners and all the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Best Croissants in France!!!
We loved this hotel; the room was lovely with comfortable beds and nice linens. The location could not have been better to visit the amazing Chateau Villandry. The breakfast was the best we had on offer, in any hotel or BnB, for our entire 3-week trip through France including Paris. The croissants were enough to make you close your eyes in sheer gastro-heaven; flaky and buttery. My mouth waters just remembering the taste! The employees were also very helpful, kind and especially Isabela, a delightful person! She was our first contact and set the tone for our stay. I highly recommend Le Haut des Lys.

Lovely converted 16thC convent with large rooms, modern fittings and eclectic artwork. Visit the bar to see the original stained glass of the chapel. Evening meal also very good

The hotel was very clean, the personal friendly and helpful. The location is also very good, just minutes walking distance from Villandry castle, which I warmly recommend to be visited. There are other castles nearby, although a car is needed. The breakfast is not various but it is not so important for us. I really liked the place and recommend it to everyone.

Great Hotel in Villandry
We had a very nice one night stay at Le Haut des Lys. Its a good location to visit Tours. The location is on the edge of Villandry village, just a 10 minute was walk to restaurants and the Chateau. Rooms are really nice and have air conditioning. The owner Pascal was very friendly, charming and helpful. We will definitely stay again

Hospitable, super comfortable and convenient stay!
This is an outstanding place to stay to enjoy the many joys of the Loire Valley! Pascal is a phenomenal host and is so helpful with information about the hotel and the area. I stayed in one of the adjacent annex rooms and enjoyed eating dinner one evening at the table/chairs outside my room. The setting is very quiet and peaceful - and you're not far from access to any number of chateaux or other great sites in the area. The dinner buffet selection onsite is great and very convenient if getting back late after a long day of sight-seeing. The bathroom is enormous and a welcome relief after small central Paris bathrooms! :) I especially appreciated having a small refrigerator in the room and the storage space was excellent as well. The patio has comfortable furniture and the garden area within the enclosed walls is very lovely/peaceful if you want to take a little stroll or sit in a very pastoral setting. The proximity to the Villandry chateau is of course great and I'd highly recommend the short climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the beautiful views of the gardens!

The ultimate gem in the Loire Valley
I have seldom given 5 stars for perfection but Le Haut des Lys deserves them. This small hotel is a gem. The owners are always present making sure their guests are well taken care of. Set in a beautiful countryside estate, formerly a boarding school and totally redone 5 years ago, this "hotel de charme" is located just outside the lovely village of Villandry, a few minutes away from one the most beautiful castle and gardens in the Loire Valley. The location is perfect as a base to explore the area. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is very good. It is worth mentioning that this hotel is part of the brand "Relais du Silence", a group of similarly charming and quiet hotels throughout Europe and managed as their owners' association. Definitely worth looking into that brand when visiting Europe and selecting "Le Haut des Lys" when in the Loire Valley

Wow!
Wow almost doesn’t cover it, just a truly lovely experience. We stayed in a room with a private terrace and hot tub at a genuinely good price, well worth every penny. The Château makes you feel special as you drive through the gates, it’s gorgeous. The owners were so welcoming and show you to your room and where everything is. The room was small but perfectly formed. Lovely comfy bed with clearly high quality linen. Bathrobes and towels all very high quality too. Really nice spacious bathroom with a bath and shower. The hot tub was obviously a huge bonus, nothing quite like sipping bubbly while relaxing in a private tub with your other half and watching the night come in. The owners have tried to think of everything to help like tv channel listing printed out for you so you can easily find English/ French/ German etc. Villandry town, caves and chateau well worth a visit too. I would come back here in a heartbeat and very likely to make a return trip or three.

Wonderful place in a beautiful location
We stayed for a night here in August with fantastic weather. The hotel is tastefully renovated and the staff were very friendly. The E’tape Gourmand restaurant a few hundred yards away is lovely with a beautiful outside terrace under the trees and is clearly very popular with the locals so you must book. The Chateau de Villandry is well worth a visit and the gardens are breathtaking.

Nice hotel in Loire
The hotel is nice, clean and appears to be recently updated. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful and showed us to our rooms. We had a family room, which is actually two adjacent rooms, connected by a small hallway which is closed off from the main hallway (so only one keyed door). The gate is closed from 1 to 3, so no early check-in. Located near the outskirts of Villandry, the area has the ambiance of the french country-side. The location is convenient for access to many sights in the Loire valley. Not far from Castle Villandry.

Pleasant but basic room. Large bathroom. Staff was very nice. Good breakfast buffet that costs 12 Euros. Nice outdoor sitting areas. Quiet. Good restaurant nearby. No air conditioning in our room. No early check in as gates are closed between 1 and 3 unless you have a key card.

We had an exceptional experience at Le Haut with very a very personable and friendly owner/manager in attendance. The countryside was a great setting for this fully restored building with very nice amenities. Breakfast was top quality with a good selection.

Staying at this hotel made our trip all the more special because the family running it was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The garden was so lovely to have a drink after a long day of Château trips and if the weather was a little cooler, the little chapel inside turned into a lovely room was great for sipping the most delicious wine (and no allergy causing sulfites in these regional wines). Pascal, Nathalie, and Audrey made a home that we would love to visit frequently.

Family owned ,chain B&B service-like Hotel. Excellent reception and most friendly & helpful. Particularly Audrey and Pascal (dad). Mum’s english limited & she looks after breakfast. Best croissants we have had so far. Nothing is too much trouble for Audrey. When w asked for hot water, we were provided a thermos jug with cups on a tray. Audrey gave us some French lesson too! When we got there late( nearly 9pm) they booked the restaurant down the road (l’Etape Gourmande) for us. Great food and service! Very reasonable too. Very comfortable stay. They pride themselves for the service and so they should!! This old convent building is very cosy. Only possible improvement is to provide coffee and tea.

What a delightful find in Loire. I can’t speak highly enough about the property, the grounds, the location, and especially the attentive, warm, and kind owners. We spent four nights here with our family of four and absolutely loved our stay. The best part was chatting with the owners each evening on the outdoor terrace. They seem to have poured their hearts into creating this special place.

Wonderful hotel close the Château Villandry
This hotel is just a marvel! We stayed for three nights and it has been a wonderful experience. The hotel has been recently established in an old annex building of the chateau. The renovation of the building has been done with a lot of style - and it has all the modern amenities of a modern hotel (e.g. elevator). The rooms are bright and well equipped with everything You need. Our room was very clean with a nice, spacious bathroom. The hotel also has a private parking lot. It's an owner operated business and the service was extremely friendly and nice. The breakfast buffet has been well stocked. Over all a perfect place to stay to visit the Châteaux de la Loire!
