“Beautiful seclusion”
Very expensive hotel in a very expensive city. Venice is the most expensive place I have ever been and it is impossible to do it properly on a budget. The hotel is fabulous but also enormous and there is a lot of waling along seemingly endless monastic corridors! The restaurant is good but not outstanding. Food perhaps a bit heavy and huge portions. Breakfast at E22 for continental buffet or E33 for cooked buffet seemed expensive but not easy to get similar quality on St Mark's Square any cheaper! The boat shuttle is fun & reliable and gets you away from the chaos of St Mark's but it doe make it a bit difficult to pop back to the hotel for anything! It only takes 10 mins but goes every 40 mins most of the time,
“We like it a lot!”
Great service. Excellent ambience, very clean. Good food. Nice bar. Lovely gardens. Quiet, tranquil. Not cheap, but worth the expense. Lot of money for a G&T, but you can't complain when it's all so good. Spa and gym were a bit disappointing. Everything else is spot on.
“Hotel was really nice”
Hotel was great, even though we only stayed three nights we use the facilities even room service.....
“Please don't tell anyone else about this hotel...”
... it's an absolute gem! The most beautiful hotel in fabulously glamorous surroundings and perfect location. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. Service was a bit slapdash but that kind of added to its charm.
“unique location”
a magical and unique location for a grand hotel.
“An Oasis of Tranquility”
Five wonderfully tranquil nights at this beautiful, spacious hotel - a clean, green haven, a boat ride away from the city centre - so relaxing to return to after a days sightseeing and shopping in the city - in fact we did not want to leave the hotel it was so beautiful and relaxing! The service of the staff is friendly, discreet & overall excellent, the food & wine is top class & locally sourced and if that is not enough it is all artistically presented. The spa, gym and treatments are superb. Even though the hotel was fully booked at the weekend you felt you had so much privacy and space! We will go back again and never mind the city sights this is a place to relax and recharge. Just don't tell too many people about it!
“Fabulous hotel, shame about the food”
An amazing hotel both in terms of setting and upkeep. The staff were very attentive. The only downside was the food - breakfast was OK but costly 22 euros for a continental. Lunch by the pool was OK and the dinner although a lovely setting, was expensive and very average.
“A beautiful hotel but...”
I have just returned from a fabulous week in Venice with my husband, what a special place and when we arrived at the San Clemente Palace in our private water taxi we were delighted with the reception we received. The hotel is glorious! Set in beautiful gardens with a lovely pool area which is a fantastic oasis during the heat of the summer months. The decor and furnishing throughout the hotel are beautiful and our room was serviced every day to a high standard. The breakfast service was from 7-11 am and the food at breakfast was well presented with plenty of choice bread, pastries, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, bacon, eggs and sausage. The hot food could be a little hotter though. We also used the lovely spa and found the therapists to be friendly and very welcoming. The boat shuttle service to St Mark's Square was regular and reliable. For a sense of balance I should say about the not so good. My husband was celebrating his birthday while we were there and I had requested in advance that the hotel send some champagne to our room, it was not there when we arrived and when I questioned the receptionist she said she would sort it out, she didn't. There generally don't seem to be enough staff around the pool area either, on one occasion we ordered drinks that didn't arrive, when my husband went to question this he was told 'we are short staffed it's not my problem'. Not good enough in a 5* hotel. This aside we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this hotel.
