“Turin - Great Hotel”
Working within Hotels i make a very difficult guest as i have certain expectations of what is delivered. This 4 star hotel delivered in all areas. Close to Porta Nova station, easy to find, visable, less then 5 minute walk to all main public transport, Metro, Bus, Sightseeing Bus, Tram & Train and close to drop off & pick up for airport bus. Perfect for lone female travellers, although i would not walk around the station too late at night on my own as there are some homless people outside (to be expected in all cities). Large reception, staff who speak many languages with ease & very friendly - althoguh do attempt some Italian as this is always polite & respectful! 3 large lifts up to all floors, bedrooms very spacious - we had 2 single beds & a pull out bed & plenty of room to swing a cat! Large bathroom with bath & plenty of shelf space. We were on the street side, noise was never a problem! Warm rooms with aircon, mini bar & good selection of international tv channels. Maid service exceptional. Breakfast was in large room, big tables for families, good selection of basic breakfast foods. We ate out every evening as large selection of reasonably priced restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Hotel bar was quiet and inviting. Tourist info office & supermarket in station 5 mins walk away. Would certainly stay again - this was second trip to Turin within 2011 and i travelled with my parents both in their 60's. Previous stay at NH Ligure
“Great Location in Torino”
Our stay was great. The room was much larger then expected and had such a great location. The taxi ride to the hotel from the airport is another story... It is right in the heart of the main town and directly across the street from the train station. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Only issue was dinning room not open on Sunday. But we found a great place in walking distance.
“Excellent--so much better than the Trip Advisor reviews I read.”
Staff was professional and courteous and spoke English, even to our Italian friends who brought us in! Room was very comfortable--nice size, immaculate, gorgeous linens, TV I could figure out how to work with international selection of programming. I had requested a quiet room and we were located off the main street, in the back, looking over the hotel central courtyard. A window in the room could be opened for fresh air which I love. Breakfast included eggs and meat, as well as the usual breads, ceral, etc. The only criticism was that the coffee and cappucino were not very hot. We were located around the corner from Via Roma, the high-end shopping area, and close to several museums. Overall, for the money, this was an excellent hotel.
“Great Value”
The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was routine, but a great value. And the wait staff was phenomenal. The rooms look a bit like a "dorm room" with no frills, but very functional. The beds were fabulously comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, very convenient to everything that needs to be seen in Turin. Don't expect elegance, but If you are looking for a comfortable, convenient hotel this is it.
“Friendly staff, central location, decent value...though a bit dowdy”
The hotel is centrally located and near public transportation (Porto Nuovo). Walking distance and/or bus routes to sites. Good places to eat within short walking distance, small grocery stores nearby for basic needs (to avoid minibar prices). Breakfast provided was fresh, nice variety, if a bit ho-hum. Service was excellent and staff were very intent on being helpful and responding quickly to questions or needs. Rooms were big enough (economy double bed) and clean enough...but were like a time machine back to 1979 with partially carpeted lower walls. If you get a room facing the main street instead of the courtyard, be prepared for noise and exhaust fumes (even on the fifth floor). Windows open, which is nice, but no screens. Can't vouch for AC or comfort in summer as was there in fall. The train station area can be a bit sketchy, but nothing more than typical urban area anywhere. Do take the #1 or #35 bus toward the Lingotto and get off on the first stop to visit Eataly...great food store with an array of dining options...and affordable, quality, local foods. Again, the decor is dowdy and dated...but the staff, location, and value make this one of the better city center options.
“needs updating”
older hotel very friendly and helpful staff. Barman difficult to find though (world cup was on though that may be why he was never around) breakfast was mediocre no problem hooking up to internet but slow connection room service was fast and meal very good TV in room very small with little to watch room + bathroom were large and clean. carpets run down though huge heavy key ring - plastic swipe cards needed very insufficient Air Conditioning despite in room unit (there was a heat wave and AC not typically good anywhere in Italy/Turin)
“Would stay here again.”
There is a nice air of quiet elegance and the staff is very kind, attentive and organized. The buffet breakfast was very substantial and the maitre d'hotel and his staff were wonderful at keeping everything replenished, tables cleared, and people moving--all with a wonderful smile. And, most importantly, the beds were wonderful...just wonderful. Who cares if the electricity went on the blink a little bit? A good night's sleep is what good accommodations is about and they have really excelled on a key element here. I have traveled quite a bit over the years and this hotel had absolutely the most wonderfully comfortable BEDS of any hotel I have ever stayed in! We were on the go, did quite a bit of walking, and were kind of achy and tired by the end of the day. It was just wonderful to lie down and feel so completely relaxed that we just went right to sleep. Have been home a few weeks and am still dreaming about their wonderful beds! Thank you Starhotels Majestic.
“Covenient in Torino”
I booked the Starhotel Majestic in Torino because I'd stayed in other Starhotel properties. It was fine, although I suspect the owners in this case reserve the best for the main public spaces. The foyer is grand and spacious, the bar very comfortable. The rooms are more utilitarian - our bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, and the room wasn't very big. However, it contained everything we needed, and the rather bizarre and initially alarming application of carpet to the door and lower part of the walls (!!) meant that the room was very quiet. The desk staff were friendly and obliging. Breakfast was good. The hotel was just across the road from the station, so very conveninetly located for both the airport transfer bus and the trains. Being near the station can be a bit dodgy in some cities, as they're not always in the most salubrious part of town, but it's fine in Torino, and we could get very easily on foot to all the sights - and the shopping area started just around the corner. (Oh, and there's a lovely little bar - the Vinero, I think it's called - across the road beyond the station, just by where the airport buses pull in. Tiny (three tables), very friendly staff, and we paid two visits, sitting there for a long time on each occasion. Very nice wine. ) All in all, I'd stay there again, but be more specific about my room requests, perhaps.
“Well-located hotel”
The room as well as the bathroom were spacious. The staff was attentive. The best about the hotel is the location: downtown Turin, opposite Porta Nuova railway station.
“Lo consiglio!”
Ottima posizione, buon servizio, pulito, stanze un po' spoglie

Porta Nuova Station, Turin, Italy: Turin's main train station is the Porta Nuova Station, built in the 1860s. Designed by Alessandro Mazzucchetti it was modelled on Kings Cross in London and consisted of an arrivals hall and a departures hall separated by a hall with a semicircular roof. The early 20th century saw many changes to the station and the interior has since been completely restructured, although the façade remains.
